when they were in Hamburg: in order to play 12+hour shifts and the entrance of marijuana was a beginning of getting  away from the excessive alcohol, and worse drugs. Yes, the LSD was something new to experiment with: thank you

John says, " Please let us face this one fact: the Beatles was not a "Boy's Club" like a "Boy Scouts"/faithful to God and Country" upright, good boy, ... thing. It was decadence and immorality

out-of-control!! with the FACADE... it was ALL ILLUSION!!- and Yoko's presence made it impossible to Appear like

honest, thoughtful, peaceful... 'good-guys'... because we were NOT!!... and what happened was like: Instant Karma: we became embarrassed by our own hypocrisy: and could not continue to advocate anything that resembled the words of the songs we were singing: Yoko just unmasked the illusion of the Beatles. I chose to live with that. and She made that successful."

    It is 9 months now since this was posted, and- what do you think now, John? John: About the same. I mean - addictions are definitely.. social group activities: so, although Yoko was not the beginning and instigation of the drug problem: as one - taking me away from the Beatles (as though that was the only good thing going..) but it was something that we did continue to do together for a time. and so was cold turkey- when that came around... I think that is why they are so popular: alcoholism, drugs... it is so much like religion: really: they fill the same space: people wanting to be included in a group, and also have this totally unique identity: their own ego- and then there is the fun of "being dizzy"- just plain smashed- so - yeah- it is a self-feeding spiral: addiction of all kinds: whether substance or religion or whatever... the problem and the cure: the cure enhances the problem (increases) more than it cures it- but one chooses the feeling of being in the 'cure' stage, and will do anything to justify going there. As for the book we were reading: I can't even remember the cover on this one.- note to self: make a picture of the cover for rememory sake. and then beyond that- we try to make life make sense.
