seven months the mutilated property of the FBI...
ten years back in the hell-hole of turners falls, the town that brought me mafiosi citizens and a contract on my life...
Brainse was born 20 july 1999, in our home, along with six siblings. one of those siblings, i'm told, just died of cancer on sept 25. another sibling, one i had kept, died of cancer in 2005. brainse was fat and funny and afraid of men and a ham bone and a mama's girl. the FBI fucking thought our need for each other, our love for each other (not just brainse and me, but all of us) was totally fucking irrelevant compared to their need to engorge their egos catching mafiosi, using me into the ground.
Mishi was born sometime in 1997, somewhere in franklin county, but i never got any other details. he was my child's dog until 1999, when he became no longer wanted and was dumped on me. but i am a joyful recipient of this dumping, because he was a nut and a sweetheart and brainse's father, and a dear, loving creature.
Lizzie was born sometime in 1988, but didn't become my bird until 1991. a senegal parrot, small in the parrot world, and not talkers. she would have been 20 this year, if she had lived. i believe she was probably put to sleep after the FBI mangled me and my family. Lizzie was Lizzie, with her own ideas on just about every subject. she and i had that in common.
Tuuschi was born in october of 1994, in our home, and would have been 14 this month if he had lived. i do not believe he's alive. they would have put HIM to sleep too, since he was born crippled and was now so old. i had had five other members of tuuschi's family, and, despite his birth defects, he had lived longer than any of the others. he was sweet and funny.
Canajoharie was born in 2004, and i bought her when she was a few months old. she was the most shy parakeet i've ever had, but after tuuschi's sister/mate died, tuuschi and canajoharie began a tremendous love affair. they lived in separate cages, and yet had a romance as great as any bird romance i've ever seen. they weren't even the same species.
