I had a dream a few days ago...  Do you remember me telling you I had to surrender my precious cats when I moved?  Well I dreamt that I opened my front door and in came my orange tabby and I just knew he had come home.  As the dream progressed I noticed he'd brought a couple new cats with him and of course our other cats we'd had to give up.

Now, of course, this was just a dream right?  Well, sadly they informed me that the chances of my cats being placed in a new home were very slim and they would be put down after 10 days if no one adopted them.  Everybody here is having to give up animals so the shelters and rescue groups are overloaded.  I never had the heart to tell my husband the truth so he thinks they have found a home and are happy.  I'll let him continue to think that.

But here's the thing, since that dream I have felt cats rubbing on my legs when there is no cat there.  I have heard them pawing at the doors, jumping into the windows, doing the things my cats always did especially my orange tabby.  I do believe, and perhaps I'm crazy, but I do believe my cats HAVE come home.

My son woke up at 4 am this morning just as happy and playfull as could be.  I don't know why he woke up but he sure was full of energy.    He sat up in bed and started clapping.  It was adorable despite the early hour especially since he just started clapping yesterday.

I've been nervous about stuff in the news lately.  I don't like the $700 billion bailout the government just passed it makes me angry but I too don't know what else could have been done aside from just leaving things alone and letting them fix themselves.  The banks would have eventually stopped foreclosing on homes because now they lose more money doing that than they do lowering the interest rates again.  The whole system is so broken and I'm tired of seeing all the predatory lending.  I used to work as a debt and credit counselor and my husband used to be a banker.  We both decided years ago that we would avoid credit at all means and don't even have a credit card anymore.  Basically if we can't pay cash for it we don't buy it.  Of course we will not be able to avoid getting a loan for a home someday or a new car when the time comes but other than that I don't want to deal with the hassle etc.  Neither does he.

This 2nd bailout loan to AIG REALLY makes me angry.  I think they should be made to use this money to pay out on all the insurance policies that people have and then shut their doors.  Insurance companies are run like scams anyway most of the time and I wish we could completely do without them but these people don't deserve to be helped.  By these people I don't mean their clients...I feel sorry for their clients who don't deserve to be scammed while they go out and spend money they don't have on retreats they don't deserve and pay themselves high salaries.  It's rotten.

Another thing that is rotten is the predatory lending which is just what credit cards and most loans have become.  I think even mortgages got to be that way.  I live in an area where mortgage fraud and false inflation of property values was among the worst in the nation.  I don't see this stopping because of the bailout and I really hope I'm wrong because until this sort of thing is stopped our mess won't go away it will just get worse.

I don't like our choices for President right now either.  They both have their good points but overall I don't trust either one and I think both will hurt our country just in different ways.  More government control over this or that seems to be the ONLY thing you hear these days.  I don't like where things are heading but what can I do?  I vote for whomever appears to be the lesser of two evils, do a lot of praying, and keep my fingers crossed.  Is that how this is supposed to be?

That's weird about your ghost kitties!  At least they seem to be affectionate and happy to be home.

The politics and economy issues right now are more than I can bear to discuss.

We finally told our families! Much rejoicing.......
It's not the perfect post I wanted to write but this is for Kyle, Starchini's Phil and any other first-time daddy-to-be out there. And no time to edit, so pardon the mistakes......
Phil & I went to Minneapolis for thanksgiving with my mom and dad. Its a short 7 hour drive from where i live. Its was worth it, i got to see my brother and his wife and her family. It wasa very laid back trip, we went shopping at a few malls on Blac...
Okay, so I've heard of pianos being haunted, chairs, picture frames, mirrors...

But wooden hand models?

I got the Artist's hand model from a student of mine as a thank-you gift when I choreographed her solo for a church fundraise...
about the hauntings of my past home....
