Soon-to-be brides must find it nerve-wracking finding the right flowers for their weddings. As for the choices on flowers, I would first suggest going for flowers that reflect the color motif of your wedding. You may choose an obvious red rose and white rose for a rustic red and white color motif. Or using yellow tulips or daisies and orange gerberas for a yellow and orange color motif, I’m sure you get the idea. A consideration on the choices of flowers is their seasonality; your flower of choice might be too expensive on the time of your wedding day because it might be out of season. Make sure you cover the tiara or ring for the flower girls, boutonnieres for your gents, corsages or bouquest for maids, brooches for the mother of the bride and groom and most importantly your wedding bouquet.
If you’re set with your color and the types of flowers you will use, I suggest looking for the best florist you can trust. Hints of a good florist are ones that can show you samples of their wedding floral arrangements, you can also ask for pictures on church or arrangements they have done on the ceremonies and receptions. If your timing is really good, you might chance on your florist with arrangements ready for delivery. If you can, check on the freshness of not only the flowers but also the foliage they use with the arrangements.
I would suggest asking for referrals from friends and family to shorten your list of florists. Finally, before signing for the purchase and making any commitments to buy see if you can haggle a bargain with the floral designer that your wedding budget can pay for. Remember, life begins anew after the wedding, not the end of it.
