I like this song , alot it makes me think back .  Maybe click and go down below ?

I've seen the bright lights of Memphis
And the Commodore Hotel
And underneath a street lamp I met a Southern belle
Well she took me to the river, where she cast her spell
And in that Southern moonlight, she sang a song so well
If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tenessee lamb
And we can walk together down in dixieland
Down in dixieland

Well we made all the hot spots. My money flowed like wine
Then that low down Southern whiskey began to fog my mind
And I don't remember church bells or the money I put down
On the white picket fence and boardwalk of the house at the edge of town
But boy do I remember the strain of her refrain
The nights we spent together, and the way she called my name

If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tenessee lamb
And we can walk together down in dixieland
Down in dixieland

Well it's been a year since she ran away
Yes that guitar player sure could play
She always liked to sing along
She's always handy with a song
Then one night in the lobby of the Commodore Hotel
I chanced to meet a bartender who said he knew her well
And as he handed me a drink he began to hum a song
And all the boys there, at the bar, began to sign along

If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tenessee lamb
And we can walk together down in dixieland
Down in dixieland

Yeah it's pretty early and I'm hungry, she said I was great, nothing but the best. You hear it for as long as I have you know it's got to be true. What can I say ? This post is about food not intimacy but there again what can I say ? I love my Captain Crunch, Rice chex and corn chex, I like them all.  Back in the day I liked Special K alot . Back then the cereal was made with uniformed sized small oval shaped pieces, today It tastes similiar but its made with pieces like corn flakes. It's just not the same. I often eat lucky charms, I like that squeeky feel when I nibble on one of the marshmellow pieces.   I also like raisin bran alot. I like alot of cereals but I need my sugar and whole milk to go with it.  Do any of you folks like cereal in the morning ?

I had raison bran today but that is rare, though I like it. Start most every day with cheerios. No sugar. Skim milk. I never get tired of them and they get me through the morning just fine. Whatsmore I like cereal for a snack sometimes at night. Honeynut cheerios then. Try it! Sounds like a nice wife!

I love, love cereal... hot, cold don't matter.. with milk w/o milk.. but best with cream or half and half!  Unforturnately all I eat now is those cardboard tasting special K in the blue box with the extra protien.  Not bad with 1/2 and 1/2 though.  haha.  I used to love cocoa puffs, sugar pops, frosted flakes, frosted mini wheats..... ah, and on and on~ LOL

Hello woman, I like cereal sometimes for a quick pick me up. I like some types of cereals soggy and others firm and crispy. I don't watch to much tv but I've been known to fill a bowl with Honeynut Cherios and sit there eating it as if it were pop corn. What do you think about this weather, I know I've been lucky lately.

Hi quietone I hope you're having a nice day. I like cereals of all types but I really used to like that Special K from years ago. It was made with small ovals and fit perfectly on you're spoon. Product 19 also was one of my favorites but today it does,nt seem the same.  Mini wheats . . . I used to eat those big square things that seemed to be like hay. I'd cover them with milk and sugar and devour them. What the hell was I thinking ? There are a lot of granola type cereals with nuts and things that I like with or without milk. I thank God for Sugar Pops Pete. Thanks for the video I don\t know how my day would have gone had I not seen it.

Oh, my gosh diabolic, what? none of those good things?  not even herbal tea w/o milk?

Cman, yes those bales of hay... only I remember pouring hot water over them first draining it off then putting the milk and sugar to it. (no wonder I am diabetic today)

  • CayenneMan said on Oct 05, 2008....
Hello diabolicdame, what do you enjoy? I like snowballs and apple cider. Awhile back I was listening to this guy on the radio. He was talking about the foods we eat today and the dangers that go along with them. By the time the show was over I did'nt want to eat or drink anything anymore.
  • diabolicdame said on Oct 05, 2008....
quietone: Nope.. they don't seem so good to me! And no.. not even herbal tea or ice tea.. since I've never had tea, I don't like the flavor now..

CMan: hehehe.. I've read about our dangerous food and by the end of it you want to stop eating! And these people also want you to stop using your microwave, your phone, your laptop and everything!

And I like apple cider too.. thats nice.. but I'm not much of a breakfast person.. unless its pancakes.. yum! Otherwise I also like some Indian spicy stuff.. or just plain old sandwiches! But nothing with milk.. noooo...
  • CayenneMan said on Oct 05, 2008....
Hello Me-Myself&I, I hope you have a great day and get the sun you seek If I don't have sugar at the bottom of my bowl when I'm finished, then I did'nt put in enough in to begin with.  :0)
  • mobil said on Oct 05, 2008....
I like the Post cereals, the almond cranberry crunch is my favorite, but I like the great grains too and the blueberry morning and the pecan maple.

Nice old advertizement quiet, it's funny that they advertize that the cereal is shot with sugar through and through haha, that would be a deal breaker today huh?

    Nice song Cman.........
  • CayenneMan said on Oct 05, 2008....

quietone : Yes you called that one right , bales of hay. . . hahaha !  Only livestock should eat that stuff !

diabolicdame: There you go again driving me crazy talking about Indian spicy foods. I love Indian foods I can't be without them !  I like pancakes and French toast too. I don't know diabolicdame but when you talk about milk I suddenly picture a cow with an ear to ear smile on it's face !  Mooooooooooooo . . . .  ;0)

  • CayenneMan said on Oct 05, 2008....
Yes mobil I like those cereals as well, in fact I often take them along with me when I go hiking.
  • cntlvmenuf said on Oct 05, 2008....

Am nibbling on Post Cereal wheat n' bran right now at work! I used to take it with milk and added honey to sweeten it but somehow got an acquired taste for it dry! A friend of mine has been raving about how good the Kashi brands are given that its a healthy brand so I got two of them....dont remember what I got but I am looking forward to trying. My other all time favorite is Honey Nut Clusters...yummy! A bit too expensive so I traded it in for the wheat n' bran. I rarely have enough time to sit down for a decent breakfast in the mornings so most of my cereal is eaten dry, behind my desk at work. I've been known to live on cereal and fruits since I hate cooking and those microwave dinners don't microwave all the way!

For the sake of my healthy and cholesterol am thinking of buying a cook book and learning how to live like a broke adult...not a broke college kid :-)

  • CayenneMan said on Oct 05, 2008....
Ain't nothing wrong with that cntlvmenuf, it all sounds good to me.Yes  I know how those mirowave meals can be. I wish you alot of luck take care. Shame you have to work today. It's a beautiful day outside.

I love most cereals...but stick to oatmeal and it's flavored variations although sometimes plain will do.
The mixed grains cereals are pretty good too and have had them many times.
My all time favorite though has always been anything with eggs sunny side up.
    :^)

Yep. Dry, like popcorn. Yummy. The weather has been delightful this weekend.
  • beyondtheveil said on Oct 05, 2008....
I like bite size frosted shredded wheat and honey bunches of oats.

What I can't stand is cereal with chocolate.
  • wombat said on Oct 05, 2008....

If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tenessee lamb.....

    I like this line......never mind....ha.

And I like all the cereal with crunchy goodies, Nature's Grain and whatever.  Glad I got over my Cap 'N Crunch addiction, though......

  • CayenneMan said on Oct 05, 2008....

RollingC :  I haven't had oatmeal in a long time, now that you mentioned it I will have to pick some up. I used to like cinnamon and raisin. Yup I like eggs sunny side up to especially with bacon or sausage. This may sound weird and my wife thinks I'm crazy but I like to fry a slice or two of canned spam and add it . It has a different kind of flavor and texture to offer for a change.

woman :   Yes it was. I had a great weekend and I hope you did too.

beyondtheveil : Sounds good to me and  I agree with you about chocolate cereal. Yuk!  Who are these people kidding ?

wombat : And just what line was that ?   :0)   I don't think I'll ever give up on my  Cap 'n Crunch.  I hide the box when it starts to get low. ;0)

  • wombat said on Oct 05, 2008....

The one after the line, "The nights we spent together, and the way she called my  name..."

I hit something wrong and lost my whole page, but I'm back now....ha.

  • CayenneMan said on Oct 05, 2008....

Puffa puffa rice  ?    what the hell was that stuff ? you'd pour some in the bowl and no matter how careful you were pouring in the milk, half of those babies would jump out of the bowl and be all over the table. I can remember how they felt while chewing. They were very lite, not much to it at all. They can keep their Puffa puffa rice, in my opinion it should only be used as a flotation device. Besides it tasted like    *    *    *     *  !

lionesss that does'nt sound so bad. I still can't get over that video with the lions. I wonder if the little one lived through that attack. I could'nt believe it got back up.

  • wombat said on Oct 05, 2008....

we love cereal here in the mornings-
my kids eat cheerio's, rice krispies, frosted flakes, and cocoa krispies.

my neighbor's son has a B&B in Vermont, and got too much cereal so he sent some to his parents - who shared with us.....post's Banana Nut Crunch and Nut Crunch cereals.  I have a dozen boxes in my pantry, so we've been snacking alot on cereal!
  • CayenneMan said on Oct 05, 2008....

Hello secretlife I hope you had a nice weekend. I like cereal. Ilike to try out all kinds but I must admit . . . if I go along to grocery shop I've been known to choose my cereal of the week by what the free prize is inside the box.

Heck if it were sugar coated Liver Snaps and they offered a mini submarine that dives . . . haha . . . so be it  !

  • MissMimi said on Oct 06, 2008....
I don't eat cereal for breakfast very often, but I will sometimes have a bowl of cereal for dinner, while my husband eats leftovers.  Cheerios, SpecialK, Rice chex, Corn chex.  There is a kind of "healthy" cereal that looks and feels like bit of styrofoam.  I think it's Kashi maybe.
  • travelr712 said on Oct 06, 2008....

wow quiet, that commercial takes me back to my single digit years! back in the day when 'shot full of sugar' was thought of as a good thing!

i always loved that song too cayen. plus, it gives me an answer when someone says 'do you have little feet?" :-)

  • CayenneMan said on Oct 06, 2008....

MissMimi :  Hello MissMimi, cereal is good any time of the day but leftovers aren't bad either, especially if it's barbecued ribs and coconut shrimp.

travelr712 :  That good travelr712 that's really good  what ever it takes, that's how I see it. "Little Feat" is a great group. They have alot of great songs. You may want to consider investing in some of their work

Thank's for the up date lionesss. I look at herds of animals a little differently now. As far as the food thing goes it's all good regardless of what time of day you enjoy it. Take care lioness.
