I am enrolled in a public speaking class.
The first speech was supposed to inform the class of
a particular topic.
I chose to talk about my publishing company and did well.
The topic was a little off key and threw some off but I managed
to make a B on the speech.
I had recieved a great deal of comments. My topic this time around
was about my heritage and I spoke from the heart.
This time I thought I did bad.
There is a Caucasian woman that is around my age that comes
in a class that is "seemingly" in a bad mood.
She usually gives "rude comments" as I saw at first.
Today it was different.
As I sat there at the mercy of the professor's judgement, I got some feedback
from her: "Don't worry about your mistakes."
So I say this to everyone of our race. We have to be careful of how we judge
others because sometimes we can actually misjudge them.
I recieved a B on the speech this morning.
Next time I'm going to take her advice.
