The page you were looking for no longer exists

I haven't been around SC much lately.  No particular reason why or why not.  I have read some posts and skimmed the titles of others but not commented much.  I feel I owe my readers and the people I am subcribed to an apology as well.

I guess it must be this time of year just before the time changes and my little corner of the world is dark for the most part of the day.  It is dreary, dark, rainy, and cold.  Very depressing to say the least!  This makes me very lazy.  Okay, so that is an excuse!  I AM lazy!  LOL

I just wanted you all to know that I am okay and have been reading some and commenting here and there.  When I get this lazy bug out of my system I will be baaack full force I hope.

A lot of you here have no idea how you have kept my sanity in check over the past year or so.  You have given my company when I have felt the lonliest (sp).  I just think I have the heading into winter blaaaaazzzz..........

Dispite the state of the world and the economy........ how the heck is everyone?
Who is looking forward to winter?  Surely not me!!!

I've missed you, but figured you must be busy.

I'm looking forward to winter!  I'm sure mostly because they are mild here.  I love wearing sweaters and furry clogs.

    Well, quilty, I know how you feel.  I feel the same way.  You and I have been talking all along, but I always miss you when you aren't here as much.  I hope things brighten up for you soon.  {{{{hugs}}}}

Here's another soul who is not looking forward to winter. Not in the least. We still have a lot of autumn though. Try and enjoy that Quiet, there is long enough to actually experience the darkness, the bitter cold, the confining conditions, the utter despair of winter... Lordy, now I'm depressed.
  • skald said on Oct 03, 2008....
Getting ready to survive an other winter. Hay, quiet one can not be like a machine and always be on Soulcast. One must sometimes take a break.
  • wombat said on Oct 03, 2008....
I guess we are alike in alot of ways, huh?  Is it the "winter doldrums" we are already experiencing?  I hope you will be ok out there.  I think I am already putting on my winter fat and hibernating, but I will pop out and pop in here some, I am sure.
  • Battycat said on Oct 03, 2008....
Hi quiet, I know the feeling, although we've had a lovely day today :-)

Q1 - I am happy to see you and can relate to S A D (Seasonal Affectation Disorder) - but I have found that a really good UV Light (not sunlamp) does work wonders!

  • Lucytorial said on Oct 03, 2008....
    Quiet ~ You know I don't know how you manage without the normal sunshine, nightime thing.. I think I'd be lazy too! so relax. :-}

Well lets see me me me me me just the same, not much to say except that I could rant shit and fluff at you for an hour and then realise you've already fallen asleep so I'll refrain and say the I am doing purdy darn good.
  • Twylarants said on Oct 03, 2008....
Gosh, Quiet, how far north are you? I miss the change of seasons terribly since I moved down south. The grass is always greener, right? I'll trade you a full year of unrelenting sunshine and sub-tropical humidity for one, just one, real autumn.
  • RollingC said on Oct 03, 2008....
Since I live in the tropics....and have been for so many years now....I've forgotten what winter is, let alone snow.   I do remember the beauty of Autum and I wish we could experience that here in the tropics and semi-tropics.  I actually look forward to the little winter that we get here in Miami.  At least we get a break from the heat for a couple of days.

Uniquely ~ I wouldn't mind your winters either!  LOL  I don't mind a bit of rain and some fog vs  10 below zero!  eeks!  I know I must be tired right now cause I thought I saw wearing sweaters and furry "dogs"  LOLFOF!!!!

Meems ~ ah, it will be fairly sunny saturday (tomorow) I am looking fwd to spending some time outside and enjoy it.  The leaves are changing pretty fast, maybe I will have a chance to go out with the camera as well.

mobil ~  I am like a turtle.. ya know... just taking my time.. stopping pulling my head in.. then popping out every now and again!  LOL

queenie ~ maybe I will just see if I can have that happen this year!! wouldn't that be cool if you received a package fedex of snow from Vermont USA!!!  just for you! :)

woman ~ yes I hear ya.  I like fall a lot but it could skip right back into spring and I'd be thrilled!  well, maybe snow on xmas for the kids.

skald ~ ah, when I first got onto SC I was on here 5 or 6 hours a day every day.. LOL now I am lazy!  haha!  but thats okay... winter is coming and I will be spending much more time inside for sure.

wombie ~ yes being home and inside is a nice place to be for the next few months for sure...... a good time to do some writing and drawing too. ;)

battycat ~ I have had some good days, but seem to be too lazy to go outside and enjoy them.  I have promised myself to do that this weekend... not going to work this weekend at all.

MeMy ~ now what is a "hot bed"?  I have no idea.  And how cool to have found that big spear head!  I'd love to go looking for stuff like that with ya some day!  He maybe it will happen - who knows!  Always good to see ya my friend.  :)

CW ~ I don't like bundling up with layers of clothes like sweaters etc.. I don't like being cold either, but I do better in the cool then in the humidity.

FG ~ yes I have heard about those lights and have yet to find any anywhere.  They say they act like real sun light and also good for people who are depressed a lot.

Lucy ~ ah, yes relax, that I do know how to do well!!!  LOL  Do you all have time changes down under or stay the same year round?  The US is probably the only place that does this huh?  I dunno.  I know there are 2 states that don't change their clocks.

Twyla ~ I am about 2.5 hours from the canadian border!  Ah, the sunshine and blue sky would be nice, but the tropical humidity..... na.  I like fall a lot myself just for that reason... no humidity.

  • Lucytorial said on Oct 03, 2008....
Quiet ~ Ohh please don't start me... everywhere but QLD (1 state) goes ahead by an hour for day light saving which does not make sense and us QLD'rs want it changed.  Its annoying more than anything.
  • quietone said on Oct 03, 2008....
Really?  One state? that is almost as bad is just 2 not changing here.  It sure does mess up things when you travel.... try figuring out what time it really is!  So you live in the one state that doesn't change time..

    trav ~ awe, thanks.  :)
  • FutureGoddess said on Oct 04, 2008....

Sorry I mislabeled before - they are called "full spectrum" lights and if you just look it up on a search engine you will find many places which sell them.  I have one right next to my computer desk and the first thing I do in the morning (after making a cup of coffee) is check my email with the light on for at least 20 minutes a day - most of the time I leave it on when I am at the desk.

My psychologist not only suggested one when I was in my darkest period last year, she actually got me one as a present...

  • quietone said on Oct 04, 2008....
FG ~ yes that is where I had heard of them too from my counselor.  Too bad business wouldn't use them in their offices etc.. it would raise moral and the people would feel like doing more work.  They did a study on that in an office out in WA state.  They replaced all the florecents with these type lights.  I don't know why I can never remember "full spectrum".  thanks!
