Silken threaded through the air,
A spider tangled in my hair.
That tiny mote I spied,
From corner of my eye,
And caught, by fingertips, unawares.
Steadied upon my fingers,
With haste and fear to linger,
For a trip down the hall,
To a carpeted wall;
Safe passage for silken stringers.
