Have you ever gotten to work and noticed that your shirt has a button that is coming undone?  The thread has worked loose and like two threads is all that holds it in place?  Then you spend the rest of the day "worrying" the damn button.  Afraid to touch it least the last two threads come undone.  Not breathing too deep because the extra strain on the button could pop it off.  Checking every hour on the hour to make sure it hasn't accidentally fallen off?

Me neither.  (Just kidding.  This happens to me a couple times a year and I still don't keep a sewing kit at work)

That's how I'm feeling today.  My buttons are securly sewn on, but my life has this annoying loose button feeling to it.  I'm exhausted from not sleeping much, which makes me nearly bathe in coffee to wake up, which makes me irritable generally speaking.

I could blame a lot of small things for making me crabby, but those are the symptoms and not the cause.  I would most likely have just blown off those things that I seem to see as world class problems a couple of weeks ago.

I'm thinking I need a vacation soon.  If nothing more than taking a day off work and spending the day at the beach before it gets too cold.

Maybe you need to practice a little dojo on those who are making your buttons seem loose?

Yeah I know about that button feeling . . . lately it seems to have a hold on me. I feel like I'm cautiosly choosing my footsteps. Trying to avoid problems that are unavoidable. I'm on a rollar coaster ride in life right now .       All I know is I got my gumby . . . it gives me strength.

CM - I like the way you put it.  Cautiously choosing footsteps.  In my case it's as if every step I take crushes a butterfly.

This feeling will pass just keep the faith and hold on tight.

CM - at this point I've thrown my hands up in the air and am doing the rollercoaster screams.

Lucy - no way man!  Then I'd go around smelling like dog shit.

I will be back tomorrow.  Seems I've managed to food poison myself or catch some stomach flu.  I will likely spend the rest of the day developing a closer relationship with white porcelon. ;)

Hey.. I hope your buttons hold up well until you're feeling better and sow them back in place.. I think that vacation is a good idea!!  :-)
  • Me-Myself&I said on Oct 01, 2008....
i don't lose them, it's the button holes that won't keep them fastened in.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 01, 2008....
    wishy - thanks, I survived.
