I like Thursday.

It means that the week is half gone, so whatever I messed up on from planning a new week is gone by, so I can say so what if I didn't do better this week--next week is now on it's way.

Friday is the "period" at the end of that sentence.

Yea!  The weekend is here!  I can enjoy that and worry about Monday later......

Monday comes....must do something good.

Tuesday comes...well maybe I didn't, but tomorrow is mid-week and that's a good "do something" day.

Wednesday comes.....maybe I did something good, or maybe I didn't, but then.....

Yea!  It's Thursday!  The day I can say, well maybe I didn't mess up too bad by not doing something good on Wednesday, and even if I did, next week is coming soon.

Friday is a lost day again.  A prelude to the weekend.  A brand new start ahead, so might as well enjoy it.

Yea!  It's Thursday!

I love Thursday.

Wombie ~ has it just turned Thursday? cause its Thursday here, just past middday.
  • wombat said on Sep 24, 2008....
No. I just realized it ain't really Thursday until midnight.  I remembered that it was still Wednesday when Project Runway came on.  I really did think it was Thursday until then.  But give me a minute....or an hour and a half........then it will be Thursday!
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 24, 2008....
Well good luck with that, maybe by chatting with me that hour and   a    half will goreallyquick.

Just had a strange walk down the street to see if a relative was home or not....a telling sign of things to come.  Not there.
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 24, 2008....
Now would they be there at this time of the night?

Thursday is my Monday, so I don't like it.  My only day off is Wednesday, which is like my Sunday, so Thursday is the beginning of my long workweek. When I was younger and felt the days of the week as colors Thursday was red, which meant it was the day before payday, so I liked it.
  • wombat said on Sep 24, 2008....
Lucy:  A divorce in progress, that's why......

Twylarants:  You just confuse me...I need to be where you are, where the days are all discombombulated.
  • Twylarants said on Sep 24, 2008....
Lol Wombie! I'm sorry...I just read my comment and it made no sense to me either.
I work 6 days a week, 50, 51 hours. My only day off is Wednesday, so Thursday begins a new work week for me. Tuesday is the end of my work week.
Usually, Monday begins the work week, and Friday ends it, so Thursday and Tuesday are my Monday and Friday.
Lemme read that over..............................ok, that's better.

The colors were something that I felt until I was in my forties. I guess it went away after menopause. Thursday felt red, Tuesday felt yellow, or maybe that was Sunday...I can't remember. I don't know what it was. Fallyn explained it once but I can't remember what it's called.
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 24, 2008....
Twyla, I thought I was the only one who saw days as colours.  Sunday is green for me, friday is purple, saturday is orange (like a day in the sun)

I don't have set days off, Thuesday was my friday but then I get two saturdays or you could say two sundays (3 days off) now thats kind of confusing.
  • wombat said on Sep 24, 2008....
I'm lost, too----but this is what I meant by the post...what does a certain day mean to you?  Very cool response!  I am staying "discombulated" for a reason.  And not too surprised that someone knew what I was talking about.   (Fallyn) And wow----you, too....seeing the colors....!
  • wombat said on Sep 24, 2008....
Ok, Lucy sees the colors, too......
  • Twylarants said on Sep 24, 2008....
The days used to "feel" colored to me. I never thought to explain it to anyone...it was just the way it was. It wasn't a big deal to me. It only came in handy when I couldn't remember for a minute what day it was, you know how that happens even when you're young? Someone would ask me if we got paid today, and I would feel what day it was. If it felt red I knew it was Thursday, which meant we got paid tomorrow, Friday.

I only felt colored days. Fallyn felt people. I don't remember feeling that. But, like I said, it was many years ago. I haven't felt it since I was in my forties. I do remember feeling time as a horizontal line which went uphill from left to right but I don't remember much more about it. I always thought everyone felt this stuff.

My manager feels bad about asking me to work 6 days for the past 3 weeks, and promises I'll start having two days off together each week soon. Yeah me!
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 24, 2008....
I can't believe you're coping with a 6 day week, then again I shouldn't talk considering I work outside of home 4 days and at home pretty much 3/4 days a week.

People are colours, days are colours and also music is colour to me, I've always found the sound of a violin to be the beautiful mauve/lilac colour, a guitar is a deep and electric blue, a flute is cannary yellow.

Twyla you are the colour yellow, like straw yellow.

Wombie is really warm olive green.

Fallyn comes across as scarlet, not a blood red but a rose scarlet red.
  • Twylarants said on Sep 24, 2008....
Believe it or not Lulu, yellow is my favorite color. I mean to the exclusion of other colors. What's my 2nd favorite color? Yellow. 3rd? Yellow.

I never felt people as colors, but I used to feel emotions as colors and smells as colors. That doesn't sound right. I can't remember exactly what it was.
About 20 years ago, my husband and I were in the car on a drizzly Saturday afternoon in the spring. It was jacket weather, cool, but nice. The streets were wet and shiny, like a Thomas Kincaid painting. Van Morrison was singing "Moondance" on the radio, my husband's leather jacket smelled good, and my sweater smelled like dryer sheets.
The atmosphere smelled blue. Not blue as in sad, blue like the color blue. Not dark, not light, not sky blue. Just the smell of blue. And all these years later, when I picture that scene, the car is facing north, there's a light green house on our left, and I can still feel it all as blue.
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 24, 2008....
That is totaly amazing, you know my dream post - it was a blue smell.

You are yellow! when I don't know someones face I replace it with a colour, and its not how I feel about them its what they feel to me if that makes any kind of sense.

So why is it that you stopped feeling that? for a while anyway?
  • the_infernal_optimist said on Sep 24, 2008....
Colored days (emotions, smells, letters, all things like that) are a form of synesthesia, which I share with you ladies. ;-) You can look it up to read more about it if you get curious.

  • quietone said on Sep 24, 2008....
well, I just read twylas first comment, and I have a head ache now and don't know what day it is, nor do I really care cause they seem all like mondays to me, except for sunday cause thats the day I do laundry, and only cause I have to.  night night~
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 24, 2008....
Hi Infernal... I thought there might have been a name for it.  I might just google and see what I can find.
  • quietone said on Sep 24, 2008....
I remember you writing about this synesthesia thingy.  I thought that it was way cool.  I wish I had that.. I think.
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 24, 2008....
Infernal is a very vibrant and sparkling purple!
  • Twylarants said on Sep 24, 2008....
Hahaha, Quiet! So Sunday smells like Tide to you! See? It's easy...lol!

That's what it's called, I remember now.... synethesia.  I looked it up when you and Fallyn were talking about it, Ferny, because I couldn't believe it was a real thing that other people experienced, too. That was a real "WOW" moment for me, after all these years, to discover it had a name.
I don't know why it went away, Luce, but I haven't felt it in...15 years, maybe? I do miss it, though. It gave texture to everything, if you know what I mean. I've always been, since childhood, a very esthetic person. As I got older and real life took over, my mind had to come down to earth, I suppose. But music...I know what you mean about music. New age music...harp, pan flute...very silvery, shimmery, blush pink. So pretty.

I'll have to show you an old picture of me to see if I still feel yellow to you.

Wombie, thanks so much for this post...it has feel about it, I just can't put a name to it. It's like a old, soft, comfortable, flannel shirt that I don't want to take off.
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 24, 2008....
This post is warm isn't it! yes a photo Twyla... definitely, I'd like to see how yellow you really are.  Ooops spreading myself thin here, on two sites at once.

I was listening to Orf the other night and it had so many colours in it, there was red and orange but then gray and also a mix of gold and blue if such a colour exists.

yes! did you hear...thursday is the new friday?
  • wombat said on Oct 02, 2008....
Hey guys:  I wrote a sad little apology on my "Tim Allen" post, also, but here it is again--I'm sorry I cut out and didn't respond to comments on my posts.  I can explain better on a new post maybe, but that doesn't excuse my rudeness, I know.  I just can't seem to make individual comments for some reason--too far behind now.  But I am reading, and maybe I can fix the problem one way or another if you all don't get too steamed at me for this.  Just had a glitch in the old "mind field" lately!

  • Twylarants said on Oct 02, 2008....
Hey Wombie, it's hard sometimes to respond to everyone. I'd rather jump in and join the fun, especially on a good post like this one.  And then when you get the big mouths like me and Lucy....she's not here, is she?....good...how can you even hope to respond?
    Gotta hide from Lucy...see ya!
  • Lucytorial said on Oct 02, 2008....
Now that I have never been called a big mouth! pffttt I have a truckies mouth yes but big?? me?

Wombie, I was wondering where you'd gone...
  • Twylarants said on Oct 02, 2008....
    Damn...not fast enough!

*hanging my head and shuffling my feet*

    Sorrryyy Lucccyyy.
  • wombat said on Oct 02, 2008....

Twylarants:  Once you lose your place in line, it's hard to jump back in, especially with guilt about not responding.  But thank you for understanding that this happens here for me.

Lucy:  I love your "truckies mouth."  I need to adopt your attitude of moxie!

  • Twylarants said on Oct 02, 2008....
I have got to write a book about guilt and how much easier life is if you don't do it. Guilt, I mean.
  • wombat said on Oct 02, 2008....
Twylarants:  I will buy the first 12 copies--and then promote them for you.
  • wombat said on Oct 02, 2008....

I love all you.......even those I may have missed.

Lucy:  I can live with warm olive green.....you are a vivid gold to me.

Quietone: You are soft flowery violet to me....

Twylarants:  You are a mellow orange.

secretlife: I am still watching, and I am guessing that Jerell will take the big one.  And you are a light rose.

PAPER:  You are a tinge of pink.

skald:  You are a crimson red, with fringes of pink and passion.

mobil:  You are solid earth tones, with humorous highlights.  (and I have to live in the moment since I have nothing else)

the infernal optimist:  Yea, you know you get it!  And you are bright white!

I got confuzzled when I stopped in to get gas where I used to work, and the new lady there, who I've talked to some, interupted me with a question.

"So, you're divorced, aren't you?"

"What? Where'd you hear that?"
