When I was young I was so energetic and there wasn't anything too hard to do. Now I can't see well. I can't open jars. My back hurts. And just thinking about some of my tasks makes me tiered. But my mind still sees the world through young eyes as well as old. I find most things humorous; even the drastic state of the world. What are you going to do anyway? Have a revolution? And I do think there will be one after America falls completely flat on it's face.
The 50's were so cool! Everything was simple, fresh quite. Then the 60's were full of a magical change and the best music ever. The 70's started marketing of the 60's and Charles Manson came along and the propagandalizers made him a "hippie" poster child. So forget peace, let's get some bell bottom pants and dance! The 80's are a blur to me: raising my daughter married to an abusive alcholholic, working all the time, and most all of my family dying. I had parents that were born in 1906. My grandparents walked the Oregon trail from Missori. The 90's ; my now sobber husband and I planted a small vineyard and started our first stages of old. Now in the 2000's I have a grand daughter and much peace with life. The only thing that really gets to me are the non-thinkers. But what are you going to do? Have a revolution?

toni:  I feel like I could have written that first paragraph.... I totally get it.  (Sorry for my lack of eloquence... I'm running on empty.  Just spent 12 hours showing a group of twenty-somethings from Turkey around Prague... I really can't keep up anymore, and my brain is fried... I'll try to make more sense next time).  Anyway, I saw your intro on Lucy's post, and was intrigued by the things you're into.  We must get acquainted.  :)

You are as old as you want to be. There is something more than physical strength....the eastern cultures term it KI or CHI. It resides in everything and it permeates all space. Go with the flow of your Ki and match it to the flow of the surrounding Ki and you will feel better, move better and live better. Have a good posture, relax all muscles and try breathing deeply. That's the start.

toni:  No kidding!  These guys are on a two week trip, staying only one day in each country they visit.  You can imagine.  And I was wearing my most uncomfortable pair of boots... they're a little too big for me, so I have to wear three pairs of socks with them just so I don't twist my ankle.   But they're so pretty.  :)
