I love writing, but I want to get paid for it.  Once upon a time here at SC I could count on a little bit of earnings to add to the other things I do.  So recently, I joined a network that pays me for what I write.  I've yet to see how much I can make, but I'm giving it a whirl.

Let me try to describe how it works.

I write whatever I want within their guidelines.  Then I submit it.  An editor approves it.  Then it is placed on various sites within it's network.  It's like blogging, yet I don't have my own blog.  Does that make sense?

Here is an example.  I have submitted the kinds of things that I would post here.  I have a pen name there too.

I also write greeting card text and I have my other blog here.  I have ideas for two more blogs that I may be starting soon.  The blog hosting plan I pay for allows me three, so I might as well take advantage of it.

My mind is always whirring about how I can make a big pile of money.  So, that's what I've been trying to focus on.  It takes me away from SC quite a bit, although I love this place a lot.  I've got to keep my goals in mind though.  A dream can't become a reality if you let go of it.

Forgive me for not being so active and not getting around to comment on your posts.  I know I'm missing out.  I'll do my best to stay in touch.

You never did  (or I missed in which case I'm sorry) tell us how your diabetic blog was doing?  Keep us informed!  I wouldn't mind getting paid to write as well I'm just less active than you in chasing them down right now

    Sean,
My diabetic blog is doing well.  It's showing up in the search engines.  Most of my stats show that's how people are finding me.  I'm not earning huge amounts of money there but my readers are steadily increasing.  I'm happy with its growth.

    Thanks for asking.

So is it making money, obviously not real money but the occasional Mc Donalds value meal or what not?  You get a lot of feedback?  How is the new one going anyway?

    Sean,
The diabetes blog has made me about $100 so far.  That's not a lot, but it's enough to keep me interested in proceeding.  I need to figure out the whole affiliate thing and tap into Amazon books too for extra income.  I'm learning how to tag better to get new and different ads on my posts.  I'm learning as I go.  Keeping the content fresh helps too.  Keeping fresh ads on Craigs List does too.

I get a lot of private emails from diabetics that read it and 99% of it has been favorable.  I've had a little over 7,000 page views as of today.

One of the new blogs will be about creative things that interest me.  The other one I'm still thinking on.

This new place I'm writing for gives up to the minute stats and feedback.  I've not really submitted enough there to see what it will do yet.  I'll let you know if I've tapped into a gold vein.  :-)

100$ isn't bad though, not for doing something you already enjoy.  I mean obviously it's a different situation but I still remember getting and email, then a phone call because somebody had read my stories on literotica and wanted to use them in his little magazines (the really trashy pocket sized ones with names like Teen Lust) and I ended up pulling in some odd two hundred dollars virtually for nothing.

how long has that one been up anyway I know you mentioned it a while back but I dont' recall how long.

I think I started working on it in late December and actually went live with it in January.  It's called The Sweet Diabetic if you want to look at it.  I think it will snowball over time as I get more noteworthy sites to link to it.  Stanford University linked to one of my articles and I get a lot of traffic from that every day.

Promotion is going to be key.

Congrats on getting your stories published.  :-)

Hello CW, I'm a new SoulCast member and I stumbled across your blog. Good stuff. I must say that I'm nonetheless impressed. A little late, I know. Like you, I love writing. Writing is my passion. I'm currently a college student majoring in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing, and my English professors love my writing. So many people have seen my writings and they love it, so I figure, why not get paid for it as well? Since you seem to be already having a head start on this, I hope if you don't mind, you could give me some tips on how to get started. Hope you're having a good year, so far. - Sydney

Yesterday I received a very, very exciting e-mail which contained two huge pieces of news. I couldn’t say anything yesterday until I’d confirmed some of the details, but now I can make the following announcements....
A little different format, but that's OK, it's my blog....
Giving out thanks....
