Last night Dan, Olia and I watched the movie Last Holiday starring Queen Latifah. Olia laughed throughout the movie. She cracked up when Queen Latifah ate the cucumber slices on her eyes during her facial! She LOVED looking at all of the food. She is skinny, but she LOVES food! Olia wanted to know if we were going to stay in a posh resort like the one in the movie when we went to Disney World. I told her we were staying in a nice hotel on DIsney property, but it wouldn't be anything like the posh resort in the movie. Olia wants to order room service when we go to Disney. Apparently, Olia is influenced by what she sees on TV. She wants to live the good life. Olia stayed overnight at her friend Katelyn's on Friday night and they made ice cream sundaes! She was so excited telling us about all the toppings she put on the sundae! She really does love food. I think she is hungry alot because she is so active and is always burning calories........if only I could have that happen to me! Olia has now gained about 20 pounds and she has grown several inches.
Olia is excited today because she got her computer privleges back. She lost them for a week for smart mouthing me. Olia has to learn to curb her mouth when she is angry or punished. She is always remorseful after the fact, but she still has to suffer the consequence of lost privleges. She had a friend over last weekend and asked for her computer mouse back while her friend was at our house. I would not give it back to her and explained that a punishment lasts for the entire length, she can't have it back just because a friend wants to play with the item. She was not happy, but she learned to accept the answer so that she didn't lose the computer for an extended time period.
Today Olia and I are going to stencil a Halloweem table runner for Renee. We are going to go visit her next weekend. We had planned to stay overnight but we can't do that because Olia has a morning game to cheer at on Sun. Her cheerleading squad is a serious squad. Three missed practices or games result in being kicked off of the competition squad. Olia will miss two practices when we go to Disney so she can't afford to miss another practice. She can't go to her friend's birthday party next Sunday afternoon because she has to cheer at a game. I didn't know it was so involved when I let her try out for the squad. The football cheerleading squad fee was $150 and the competition squad was another $175 plus several fundraising requirements. The coaches are all volunteers so I am not sure why the fees are so high. The competition fee includes the cost of the uniform and warm-up suit. I guess there are entry fees for every competition the squad enters. Next year we may just do the football squad cheerleading. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't missing a few practices/events due to our Disney trip in Nov. She really loves being part of cheerleading. Olia cheers all day long at home.
