Emailing: mail

Ever feel like this?!!  My sis sent me a long email with a bunch of pictures in it, but when I got to this one I nearly shot coffee out of my nose.  This is exactly how I'm feeling lately.  Like life (the dog) is sitting on me and I can't get up.  And if this is true to life, I can guarantee you that the dog will fart on the cat while he's sitting on her.  True torture as you who have been unfortunate enough to have suffered a sneaky dog fart!

    OMG!@!
I almost DIED chocking on a cube of ice as I was trying to chew it!
This picture could kill more than a cat!

Yup girlfriend, totally feel like that!

Try to reposition yourself as the dog, uniquely. Or to realize that you are both the cat and the dog of your own life. In any case, this picture's hilarious, so thanks for sharing.

BTW: An interesting observation: you identified the dog (life) as male and the cat (you) as female. In other words, it's a man (or more than one) that's deflating you (for lack of a better word).

daily - this is what I call a "killer" photo.  Glad you survived it.

Anomalous - I wondered if anyone would catch that.  First let me say that I think life is actually more like a cat.  Moody, fickle etc., but this picture doesn't work if that is the case.  I simply used the gender rules of some languages that assign sexes to objects and animals. (spanish for instance)

Yes, I'd rather be the dog.  Who knows, some day that may work out for me.

LOL  oh God...  uni, that pic is worth the price of admission!  I so get how that kitty feels.  LOL...
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 19, 2008....
MissMimi - I thought you might.  I'll bet the cat is thinking "Ass!! I smell ass!"

  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
i wanna print it off and hang it in my cubicle!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 19, 2008....
Trav - go for it!  I "stole" it from junk email, so I seriously doubt there's a copyright on it.
  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
ya know, i really should! but i don't know if they'd approve of the image, ya know? still, it's funny!

    trav - party poopers!
  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
well, i'm tryin to get em to loosen up a bit...

we had a 'severe weather drill' today. we all had to assemble in the hall. keep in mind, this is a huge building, 3 floors. as we were standing there, i noticed there were only about 40 people in the hall. i asked if that was everyone in the building, and they said yes! we could fit 40 on our floor and only fill half the space!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 19, 2008....
trav - severe weather drill?!!  Boy, that's one really prepared company.  I don't think I've had one earthquake drill since I started here and this is California.  We have a couple of earthquakes a year.
  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
this is the first time since grade school i've had one. but it's verizon, and they hold pretty high standards. i like that actually.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 19, 2008....
trav - it is a good thing, I'm just cynical enough to think that in a real emergency that no one will file out "in an orderly fashion" ;)
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 19, 2008....
    FFFFFFFFFFRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Seriously man, that is damned funny!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 19, 2008....
Lucy - and the dog looks like he has NO idea that he's sitting on a pile of fang and fur.
  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
maybe not, but everybody there is a college graduate, over 40, highly skilled and very competant. usually people like that don't freak out in a crisis. allot of people with those traits were heralded as heros at the twin towers, because when you reach that level and age, they have done so because they don't let fear rule them, know what i mean?
  • wishyouwerehere said on Sep 19, 2008....
The cat needs to bite the dog in the ass - turn around is fair play!
  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
LOLOL wish! that's as funny as the pic! and it wasn't even a thousand words!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 19, 2008....
trav - sorta.  Having finally reached 40 (which looked unlikely when I was 22) but having missed being what we call "highly skilled" I think it's less likely those kind of folks do a big freak out.  However, I have seen them do some really contrary things in the name of being "dignified".  I, of course, don't have that burden ;)

WYWH - I'm wondering if it happened about 3 seconds after the picture was snapped.  I'm pretty sure my ex-cat would have made hamburger out of a dog who tried to get away with that.

  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
LOL ui, i'd like to get a glimpse of that 'undignified' side just once. i always find you to be very charming, warm and caring.

and you're right, they can be condescending too. but when i step back and look at the situation, they usually have the right to be, and i've often come across the same way in similar cirumstances.

today, one of the ladies that i'm becoming friends with was walking by me and pulled on the badge stuck on my belt, stretched it out a bit, and let it snap back as she walked by. she looked slightly aprehensive as she gave me that coy smile and said she was just being playful. i laughed and told her i'd have done the same thing in that situation. so it's not all work work work aroung there.
  • wombat said on Sep 19, 2008....
Poor kitty!  I chuckled, too, and am glad cats are flexible enough to live through that. I hope anyway.....

Most days I feel like the cat, but it would nice to be the big dog.

(ok, at first glance I thought it was a rubber chicken)
  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
hey wombie, you and me was posting at the same time. i won :-P
  • wombat said on Sep 19, 2008....
yes, you did....and now I can't even get it to work......oh, there it goes maybe.  (edit, edit.....I tried to comment but SC "edit."    Ha!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 19, 2008....
trav - oh, everyone has the right to be dignified, but not if it's at the expense of their safety.  When we recently did a fire drill I had to go back in to tell some people that despite their very important work that they really did have to go outside with the rest of the group for a few minutes.  These were people several job levels above me.

If you want to catch me undignified, knock on my door early on a weekend.  I'm about as dignified as stepped on chewing gum about that hour.  And about as intelligent as gum then too!! :)

wombie - cats are amazingly flexible.  I'd like to be the dog now and then too.  Or at least bite the dog's ass now and then.  Rubber chicken?  I think all things chicken are hysterical.
  • travelr712 said on Sep 19, 2008....
i thought weekends were when you were supposed to 'lay like chewing gum'! :-P

you know, while we were all walking to the stairs during the drill, i passed by one cubicle and there was a man sitting, hunched over his laptop sitting on top of his other keyboard. i think he was tracking a sale on ebay.
  • wombat said on Sep 19, 2008....

MM&I - it sure does.  The big question is whether you're the dog or the cat.

polar - most of us would.

silver - I wonder if kitty taught puppy a lesson in manners.

queenie - good clean fun, right?
