i know i haven't been around much--it's rare for me to go a day usually without a blog entry, never mind almost a week!
for the past week and a half i've been having trouble with my internet connection at home so the mrs and i are evaluating alternatives. otherwise i've been doing pretty good, all things considered.
i miss you guys!
i don't recall if i mentioned it before but my former colleague l, who was let go about a month ago now, used to organize a happy hour get-together at work. since she's no longer there, it fell to me to carry on with it, and she was able to join us this past monday, along with another guy who was also let go. i think they arrived together: i should ask her about that.
anyway, the mrs joined us, so she was able to meet some of the people i talk about to her. afterwards, on the drive home, she looked at me and said, "so let me get this straight: every day, you have lunch with four pretty women? you must get a lot of envious looks!"
and you know, i hadn't really thought of it that way--but now that i do...she's right, i do! it's weird, they're all in my former department, which except for the manager and one guy is entirely female.
in my new department, the gender divide is a lot more even. but it does seem the ratio across the company seems to favor women by a noticeable margin. i wonder what that's about?
there's no chance i'm ever going to catch up on my users (it's like 2 weeks worth or something as i write this) so i'm just gonna have to give up on that.
anyway: just an early morning ramble. i hope you guys have been well!

The gender spread in your company does seem a little odd, but I don't know why that would be the case. You'd think it would be more even.
I hope you can find an agreeable solution to your internet woes. (Does this mean you might end up with something other than dial-up? :-D)
