I definitely don't possess-to-impress! It's clear that I don't abide by the "he who dies with the most toys wins" philosophy. My focus is not on keeping up with the latest trends or on wowing people with my possessions. Far from it. I seem to stick with the bare-bones minimum. No need for excess. I might occasionally splurge on a fancy outfit or a new miracle skin-care product. But I don't make a pattern of indulging myself with material goods. I sometimes frown on people who buy designer brands just to show off the label or drive a convertible to insinuate they're rolling in cash.
Keep in mind, though, that splurging isn't always a bad thing. If you've got the urge and the funds, it's fun to let loose every now and then. Spending style is motivated by values, so how about you? Are you materialistic?
