So that's my question folks.  When did pornography become politically correct?

I sent a message about it to Soul Cast.  I hope they respond.  I saw some disgusting and filthy fake photos superimposed over actual photos of Sarah Palin on Watchmanwhatofthenight's blogs.  I don't know if he/she is gone because of the filth or not.  I hope not.

I know that politics can become vulgar, and one definition for vulgar is indecent or obscene; but I think our very interpretation of what is indecent and/or obscene has changed drastically over the last 20-40 years.

It is these drastic changes in our ethics and our morality  that truly concern me.  I never would have imagined that our body politic would completely abandon having a "practical wisdom; prudent; shrewd" and "diplomatic"...to the more base definitions of "crafty, unscrupulous" and "contrived".

I am appalled at how vile our "liberal" society has become.  In the Bible the word "liberal" means generous.  It also says that those that call themselves, and are called by others, "liberal", will be exposed for the scoundrels they are.  I believe that is happening right now.

I find the "liberal" media and most "liberal" politicians to be rather shallow, but if they refuse to condemn the worst of the worst of these frequent attacks on Sarah Palin, in particular; and admit that their own attacks on her have birthed these abominations...then I want nothing more to do with any of them.

I won't ever watch network TV again.  Never will I watch any of the women from "The View", or take them seriously in any way, shape or form.  I will boycott their comedies, their movies and any and all of their "causes".  Don't tell me that you're a "feminist" and that you champion "the cause" of women everywhere.  Pish.

What a pity.  What a pitiful excuse for "media" we have in this country now.  I am ashamed of it.  Ashamed to have been trained in journalism, and see the depths to which it has fallen.  It has fallen.

I watch Fox News.  I listen to the conservatives and the liberals on Fox.  I haven't seen one single liberal on Fox, that has condoned the desparate and frequent attacks on Sarah Palin.  They have tried to focus on the issues and not the attacks.  But the truth of the madness of the liberal media and the "lipstick" slipping liberal politicians will be their own downfall.

I say let them continue attacking.

It is a mirror into which they are too ignorant and narcissistic to gaze into for long.

They think it is about Sarah Palin?  No.  It is not.  It is about them.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?

Fox news I guess.

Keep persecuting Sarah Palin for her faith "liberal media".  All it does is tell me that she is the right woman for the job of Vice President of this country; and the fact that John McCain chose her?  Knowing that they disagree on more than a few things?  I say, "my hat's off to you McCain".  Now I know that he is the right man for the presidency too.

How do I know?  By the attacks of those that I abhor.  They're scared and out of control.

That's a good thing.  They are exposed now, for what they are.  Mean spirited bullies, liars, sneaks, hacks, and basically the dregs of what is left of our collective humanity.

No worries.  God always leaves a remnant.  And He always prospers, protects and builds them up.  You go Sarah Palin.  You go John McCain.  Expose the corruption in high places.  Leave the common man alone.

Redistribute this (Sorros and) Obama:  You made 90 million in how many years?  Doing what?  With whom?  Why do I hear the lyrics, "I'm your puppet.  I'm your puppet!", going over and over in my head when I think of them?  Move On.  What a joke.

Okay.  That's my rant.  I am done now.  Read this fast too.  I may just delete it.

Don't send this one around to increase readership Soul Cast.  You do not have my permission to send this one.  There are too many nasty liberal hackers in the world now.  Too much corruption.  Too much decay in our society.  Don't put me at risk SC!

It's a dirty world my friends...it needs to clean up and get right.  In this country we need to humble ourselves and repent for the depths our society has fallen in the last forty years.  For God's sake people, wake up.

Over and out.

My hat's off to the owners of this blog site.

    I am impressed.

I am impressed with Soul Cast.

    Kudos SC!

You have restored my faith in you, and given me hope for the new "media" at large.

For anyone that thought they wouldn't respond, I want you to now that they took care of the porn posted on Watchmanwhatofthenight's blog, and they were prompt about it.  I have great respect for them.

I wish other websites were as discerning.

    Thanks SC.

    Respectfully yours,

The right to freedom of speech unfortunately, also gives people the right to act like a first class dope.  Most are smart enough to keep our dopiness to ourselves.
But hey, some of us like to advertise.

Sarah palin thinks the world is 6,000 years old, that just shows the level of her intelligence. The picture described what she is. Shouldn’t have been posted in someone else’s blog, as that was not right. It was a funny picture though.

  • pickersplock said on Sep 21, 2008....
You wouldn't think it was so funny if it was your mother, sister, or daughter.
  • SeanRenaud said on Sep 21, 2008....
What's that got to do with anything?  I might not think it's funny but I'm an adult and I'd likely ignore you.

The mother, sister or daughter argument holds no water because it's at it's root a bs argument.
  • pickersplock said on Sep 21, 2008....
    Palin has five children.
How do you think her seventeen year old daughter will feel if she googles her mother's name one day and that picture shows up?
Some people just have no consideration for the feelings of other people.
but, as I said before, everyone has the right to advertise their stupidity.
  • SeanRenaud said on Sep 21, 2008....
I don't really care how her daughter will feel.  No more than I care what Obama's kids will think when they google up their father and find articles subtly hinting that he's the antichrist
  • pickersplock said on Sep 22, 2008....
    Well, that's just you....I care.
Whether it's Obama, Palin, or any other politician.
That picture is wrong, wrong, wrong.
I would think it was wrong even if Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton subject of the picture.
Calling Obama the antichrist is wrong.
My Mama taught me to empathize and have consideration for the feelings of others.

    Cute.

Still you aren't arguing that it should be illegal, only that it's in bad taste so I don't even understand what your point is.  It would be nice if we all held hands and sung carols but that shit ain't happenin either.  I highly suggest you sit with your nose in the corner until at least December if you care that much about other people's feelings.  Or is it selective and hearing a group of people be slandered as baby killing deviant terrorists doesn't hurt your sensitivities?  Some other guys are likely to be called blood sucking Nazi racists, but of course trying slander somebody is clearly worse than photoshopping a picture.

    Good luck during the election!

Boy you have a lot of anger!  Why it's directed at me is a mystery.
Of course it's not illegal to put a tasteless, disgusting, dumb picture up.

Also I'm not angry, you're just acting like a six year old girl and getting your panties in a bunch, but there seems to be a case of that going around.
  • truthsayer said on Sep 23, 2008....
Hmmm.  Why am I not surprised at Sg's response?

But then, I am not surprised at SeanR's response either.

Pickers and I have some similarities it seems.  I am "good" with that ; )

I guess that she is younger than I am...probably at least 10 years or so (maybe even 20).  She works in a noble profession that requires empathy and respect for others.  So, I am not surprised at her response either.

What I can tell for sure, and what concerns me the most, is this disconnect with empathy that two very young (and often angry) men seem to demonstrate.  I think that is my fault...and their mother's fault.  Perhaps, and maybe even most especially their father's fault.  I don't mean their actual mother's and father's fault...just that somehow, we have failed this generation...collectively speaking.

Is this what we have to look forward to from you SeanR and Sg?  From your generation I mean?  You see?  You have no perspective from which to judge the past.  You are young.  You were not there.  I dare say that even if you were raised by one or both of your parents to care deeply about others...you would be capable and willing to show empathy to others.  Respect.  You would have more respect for others.  As it is, I know that you do not understand a single word of what I am saying here.

SeanR:  I know that you love and respect your father.  I know that you have military experience, and thus, you have a perspective on the world...experience that Sg couldn't possibly have.  You have a perspective that I don't have.  This is the maturity I sense about you at times.  I wish you would let that experience of yours settle in you, and grow some new branches from those roots in your past.

I wish you would take that love and respect that you have for your father...even when you disagree with him on issues...I wish that you would take that love and respect and explore the roots of that experience.  Perhaps one day you will be able to understand the things your father has been trying to impart to you.  They are nutrients that you need, and that you lack because you have refused to absorb them...but luckily for you, they are still available to you...for now.

They may not be available to you one day...and then, you may realize that you needed them, too late.  You can look back and try to absorb them from your past...one day in your future...but it will never be the same as having him right there to question, to really delve into the whys and wherefores.  I hope you can understand what I am trying to say to you...and that you won't just dismiss this offhand.  Did you see quietone's post today?  Or yesterday?  Things happen Sean.  Life goes on.

Ask his advice now...even if you don't agree.  Get the information now, ask him questions now.  Then at least you'll have those nutrients in a more pure form...than trying to discern his truth from your own misunderstanding.

Btw?  I would prefer no response Sean, over a public dismissal of my advice.  Sg has no concept of sagacity.  I would also prefer "zero" response from him.  I do not know him as well as I have gotten to know you Sean.  You have revealed more to me, in earnest.  That is part of the maturity I see in you.  Take these times that you are going through as an opportunity.  Take them to heart and sieze the opportunity to ask your dad, and really listen to him.  He has something to pass on to his son, and it will really help him to know that 'at least you asked'.  Even if you disagree, at least you asked, and had enough respect to really listen.

Pickersplock...please don't take my focus on Sean as a slight in any way, shape or form.  I just have a heart for this young man...and I know that there is a battle going on for him right now.  You will likely see the battle in the next few comments.  You don't have to say anything of course...just watch what happens.  Read along, even if you don't comment.

And Sg.  I know that you don't understand a single word of anything that I say.  I don't grieve over this...not really.  I think you are like a very linear professor that I had in college.  We actually had another professor...the department chair, intervene in our "professional relationship".

I was taking a graduate course from him...this very linear man...and although I could understand his language, I had little concept of his reality.  He was like a piece of paper with one sentence on it.  It worked for him.  It was a simplicity that I used to long to have.  I rued my own concept of reality.  I wanted to be simple.

He wasn't stupid in any way either.  He was a respected college professor.  He was, however, completely incapable and unequipped  to understand anything about me.  He didn't understand anything I said, and I couldn't blame him.  It's just the way he was.  He really couldn't understand.  He was completely linear.  I was completely abstract.

So, Sg...let's just call a truce...okay?  There is no common ground between you and I.  Two ships, you know?  Two ships bypassing in the night...the very DARK night ; )

Oh.  Btw way, and on topic ; )  I would work on Sarah Palin's staff anyday.  And I am pretty sure that neither of you boys could understand that.  I would be honored.  I have my own issues with being a woman, being pretty, being smart.  My own brothers hated me for it.  So did my sister.  My feminist brother (he was the head of a large city's NOW chapter...yes, HE was) hates me for being born.  He says that I am smarter than him, and that really eats at him.  He was supposed to hold that honor of being the smartest eccentric in the family.  And here I am.  Ruining his life, from wherever I am on the planet.  And my sister?  I have ruined her life by being smart, and by being "the pretty one".

Know what?  I am smart.  I am pretty.  I am a "master communicator".  My abstract reasoning can make me pretty intimidating.  I am told all of these things by others, and have been told these things for a long time now.

I have to wonder what it is that would actually make me less intimidating.  What would put people more at ease with me?  Not that I am not likeable (double negative on purpose ; )...you either love me or hate me.  Or love to hate me or hate to love me ; )  But from my experience in life...the only thing that has ever made me "more likeable" to the people that hate me, is to be less than I am.  To tone myself down, as I used to call it.  To be "less perfect", as my oldest daughter used to say.  Well, I've done that.  Wanna know where it has gotten me?  Wanna know how that's working for me?  It's not working well for ME at all.

So, I can relate to Sarah Palin.  I admire her.  And I can guarantee that there are a ton of people that are just plain jealous and intimadated by her confidence, her character and her humility too.  I also guarantee that Sg will say that I sound arrogant and self righteous because I am confident about my judgments, my own life experience and who I am.  Too bad.

I like Sarah Palin and I like her because she's real.  Not because she's perfect, just because she's real.  She has a real life, real relationships and real problems.  I can relate to that.  She's talented and she's also a pistol.  I can relate to that too.

Sorry boys.  She's a powerhouse.  Deal with it.  But deal with it in a respectful way, or else you just look cold and childish...and quite possibly, vulgar.

    C'ya'all later ; )

P.S.  SeanR?  Please help Sg to understand, once and for all, that I am a woman...will you?  : )

For the record?  I am not angry either.  Just a little disappointed I guess.

I was angry though.  I certainly was.  She is somebody's mother, somebody's daughter, somebody's wife, somebody's sister.

I would be just as apalled if this had been a photoshop picture of your mother Sean, Sg's mother, or Obama's face superimposed with an inappropriate part of a man's anatomy.

I don't agree with his politics, world view or values...but I would not disrespect him in such a childish and vulgar way.

But I am not made for this world system anymore than this world system, as it is, was made for me.  It was made for selfish, self centered, perverted people I guess.  So, those who like things this way will fight to keep it this way.  Even if it means that they fight dirty...even if it means that they fight filthy.  Right?

Thanks for sharing your world views with me here in my blog folks.  I appreciate the interaction.  It helps me to understand where we all fit into the scheme of things.  It helps me to "see more clearly", and to know what to pray for.

One thing you got right.  People who like the world will fight to keep it, it's better to fight dirty and win than to keep it clean and fall to defeat.  Though how anybody could claim our world is more self centered than it was 50 or 100 years ago I don't know, nor how somebody can disagree with Obama's values AND disagree with being selfish is beyond me.  It's like disagreeing with Ghandi and then saying violence is the wrong way to handle things.
  • truthsayer said on Sep 24, 2008....

I agree that it would look that way Sean...at least that is what they would want to project, and that is what they most certainly hope that you and I would see/perceive.

That said, I am a student and disciple of Jesus...a follower of His example and dedicated to delving deeply into what He died to show me, tell me and teach me.  As you know, this is not a game to me.

Therefore, I must get beyond appearances and make a right judgment about people, places and things.  I must ask Him daily, to search my heart and know me, and expose to me if there is anything in me that displeases Him...not that He is a power-monger Whose only desire is to control me and everything around me.  But because He is the only One that did it.  That made right judgments all the time, that saw people...even those He dearly loved, for who and what they were.  He said that I can do the same thing...and love them totally and completely, as I see the truth and say the truth.

Now, He also said that He did not come to bring peace...but a sword.  He came for battle, and He shows me how to do battle, in righteousness.  He said that I must be SHREWD AS A SERPEANT, but HARMLESS AS A DOVE.  He said that I can do battle without harming anyone.  I can be His Love, and I can be His Truth.  It is the truth that I do battle with.  The Lion of Judah is for battle.  He is dividing the sheep from the goats.  I am one bad ass sheep Sean ; )  I am a lioness that fights and always wins...because the victory is assured.  Yes Sean, I will fight for change...and it isn't decay that is masked as "change".  I am here for breakthrough, not breakdown.

A dead carcass changes as it rots.  Where the dead "body" is, there will the VULTURES be gathered.  Where the (living) Body is, there will the eagles be gathered.

The world is decidedly more selfish now Sean.  I have watched the decay.  I was raised to watch the world decline after WWII.  It has become ever more materialistic and narcissistic.

Now, about Obama?  He is a community organizer.  So what?  I worked in non-profits, I worked for "causes", and I saw that it is full of as much decadence as the biggest corporations and government agencies.  In fact, I think they make great hiding places for the worst of the worst, to get their committees, their board appointments and titles...they can even get their name in the paper or on a plaque...but they are still as scurrilous as they ever were.

His associations prove it.  He's made a lot of money since 1995.  Do you think the job of "community organizer" pays like that?  I know that he is only a puppet though.  I worked on Bob Kerry's campaign...not a big position, but enough to see and smell the inside of politics.  It is dirty Sean.  Most of them are puppets...and if they succeed, you'll never know who the real puppet master is.

Not all politicians are bad.  Not all professors are bad.  Not all corporate executives are bad.  But being a community organizer, or a senator that refuses to vote, but only show up for the vote...well, that smells like someone that has been put into position...vague on purpose.

Playgrounds and playmates.  His associations speak volumes.  He wants to tax the hell out of small businesses...the government has all but killed the true entreprenurial spirit in small business.  Who would risk it anymore?  I wouldn't.  The big corporations and special interests and the billionaires rule the world now Sean.  Little guys like you and me who are, or were in business for themselves?  We don't stand a chance.  That's what's wrong with your business Sean.  The world system is wrong.  Sorros wants to destroy, or "deconstruct" America.  And you, bloc, and others are helping him get it done.  Sad but true.  You fought for your country for a season, but now, you are part of something very different.

I am curious.  What does your dad say about it all?  He may not be much older than I am...or even younger.  My oldest daughter is older than you are.  I may not look my age...but I have been here for a very long time...it feels like it has been for a very long time. "Be not weary in well doing."  I saw things by revelation, when I was just a little girl.  Now, I am seeing things come to pass that I had hoped were only nightmares.

    I digress.

"Shrewd as a serpeant and harmless as a dove.''  "I send you out as sheep among wolves."  "You wicked and perverse generation, when will you do away with appearances and make a right judgment?"  And, "the Kingdom of Heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force."  Those are scriptures that I live by Sean.  I hope that helps you to understand what I am saying to you.

It's all personal and everything matters.

Thanks for having the guts to respond Sean.  I wish you all the best, always.

    Love, love, love,

    Your friendly neighborhood truthsayer,

    Truth

I'll ask my Dad if you really want Truth but I'm highly skeptical that any politically active black man in his 50's thinks our world has suffered ANY moral decay.  And maybe that's where my prejudice on this subject stems from.  Maybe because I know that 51 years ago the Army had to be called out so people of my skin color could go to school with whites that I can't see how we aren't doing better.  Maybe because I've shook hands with a woman who was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white man that I can't see how we're doing worse.  Least not on our morals.

We live in an America where every single man and woman in our military is there because they chose to serve this nation instead of being drafted to fight a war many didn't agree with.  Again we are better off now.

You can't both be against the gathering of power in the hands of a few AND be against creating a situation that will help prevent that situation.  You simply can't.

As far as Taxes go, taxes are going up.  Period.  Its a question of if these taxes are goign to be implemented  steadily to help out the nation in ways such as UHC or if we'll just wait until somebody who got to rich for our own good screws up then hand them 700 BILLION dollars but either way the tax is going up, where would you rather your tax dollars go?

Do I need to go into the fact that smeer the queer and fag drags were common not long ago?  Or should I start showing you what a country that is actualy run by Abrahamic religions look like and alway have and there is no reason to believe they won't always?  History has shown that really the thing that is standing between us and the Inquisition is ME.  While you haven't joined in the rah rahing with the rest of the Right just a quick glance at ALIEN, Cur, Cops, D6fer will show you that you are out numberd 4 -1 on how we should handle torture.  4 goes it ain't me and those are bad guys.  My guess is that you'll be the one to abstain to vote, but maybe you'd be martyred right up along side us wicked and perverse and then . . .well it's 4-0.  They win.

You are truly one of the people I wish I didn't have to trample over to get to the insanity to support but you chose front line.

You brought up some really great points Sean.  Really great.

I was speaking mostly to the decay of the family unit, but you are right about much of what you mentioned.  I can't stay online for long right now.  I have some blessed family things I must attend to.

But, I will be back because as you may or may not remember, my two best friends in college were black.  So I can definitely relate to and understand your point about racism.  They were completely different individuals and they did not like each other...that helped me to understand their life stories even better.  It is interesting, but my personal observations on them really aren't my point here.

I would probably would have been in the underground railroad if I had lived in that time; but I might have also been one to hide Anne Frank, if history had given me that chance.  I did research on Martin Luther King and he was prophetic, as well as being an activist...but mostly, I think he was a wonderful black preacher man, with a destiny from God. Yes, he had a dream.  God gave Him that dream and the passion that got him assassinated.  He had a dream that he saw fulfilled.  However slow it may seem to you and I, at least we have a black man running for president; and a woman running (for vp) on the other ticket.

If you ask your father, ask him what he has seen happen in the black family unit.  Are they as close?  Is there more or less divorce, more or less marriage with children...more or fewer abortions?  I don't mean to sound trite in the least.  I hate the origins of Planned Parenthood.  I hate it.  I hate what it does.  I hate how many babies of all colors are killed.  But when I studied the origins of Planned Parenthood, I almost threw up.

I feel that our world is so much more complicated now, that we may not even know how these things have really changed...for all of us, in the intimate and core unit of all civilized society.  I do not mean that indigenous people were uncivilized either.  I simply mean in an any organized society that has mores, values, government, etc.

So no.  I don't think that Whoopi Goldberg's comment to McCain about having to worry that she might have to worry about slavery again has anything to do with anything.  The Bible doesn't advocate slavery, as much as you may think it does.  It makes allowances for the hardness of human hearts.

Take for example, what Jesus said about divorce.  That was given to them by Moses, because of the hardness of their hearts towards women.  It is the same with slavery.  I know that slavery was atrocious.  Even my little one understands that it was something, a horrible thing that happened.  She looks down and looks sad when we talk about it.  But we talk about it, so that she knows that it isn't something that God wanted for any of His children.  We talk about the holocaust too.  We talk about child abuse, neglect and sexual predators too.  But she has the wisdom to know that God never planned any evil thing for us.  We did that.  Granted we had "help".  But the bottom line is:  We did that.

I guess that's the main thing I wanted to correct, so that you wouldn't have your father thinking that I was disrespecting him in any way.  I know saying that two of my best friends are black, doesn't change the past either.  I once asked a rather famous angry black man what I could do, now...to make things better.  He said nothing.  'You can't do anything.  We have to do it.  Black men have to do it.   You have nothing to do with it anymore.  Your part in it is done.'  He reintroduced segregation into the Omaha schools.  He actually got it done.  Is that progress?

I don't want to go on and on...and I do not want to make light of it either.  That racism is better, in many ways.  But truly, like antisemitism and sexism, racism is more subtle now.  My dad had an all black regiment in WWII.  I think I have relayed that to you as well.  It is especially interesting being that his father was an antisemite (and this may be like Hitler hating his own race), a racist, bigot, etc.  So I can relate to much of what you said, in a very personal way.

As to the draft.  I agree with that comment too.  I still believe that the evil that is in the world is to be worked out in ways that most people do not readily understand.  If you believe the word of God, He is working it out through us, so that we learn and so that we understand.  He does not force us to change.  He gave Jezebel 44 years to repent...so I guess he gives even the most rebellious of us ample time before He must exact His judgment.

Like I said, I'll write more later if you want.  I just wanted you to be sure to let you know that I appreciate your candor.  I know that some of the things that you have mentioned, are better, and that they have cost a very few, very dearly.  So maybe in that way, you and I can each share a little of that burden, and a little of that joy, even now...and in more ways when all good dreams and all good visions are truly fulfilled.  Maybe then, by the Grace of God, we can both look back and see more clearly, the part we each will have played.

I think that there is a huge disconnect in all nuclear families, that is a sign of our downfall.  I have an old encyclopedia that I found.  It is from 1968.  The difference between our world then and our world now, is striking to say the least.  Like I said, I plan to write about it...and then maybe you and I will have an opportunity to understand one another's perceptions, even better than we do now.

    With due respect,

I think it’s a stretch to say that we’ve seen MLK’s dream come true, much less that he saw it (unless we are getting into metaphysics and he’s watching from above style stuff)

As far as the black family unit it’s deep and complicated issue.  You will rarely (if ever) hear me speak about the African American Boogeyman.  He is refered to in popular media as The Man.  That said social issues don’t occur in a vacuum nor do they magically stop as soon as the situations that caused them are eliminated.  For example the one man rule has pushed who knows how many men out their homes and prevented how many women from getting married.  Even if you accept that it was stopped instantly in 1968 with the court case (which obviously in many cases the damage had been done) that generation (and their children) are largely what we have running around.  I was born 15 years after that mandate, so assuming people have kids at around 25 we should be seeing the first generation of families without that particular albatross hanging around their necks in about three years.

Another issue that is at work here is the incredible incarceration rate amongst the African American population, and many of them are in prison for nonviolent crimes.  Amongst the leaders marijuana possession which has broken up more families.

My point here is that in addition to standard deadbeat dads there are other reasons why black children have grown up without their fathers and there is sufficient data to prove that growing up without two parents has an effect.  There is a similar amount of data suggesting that on average children aren’t “smarter” than their parents.  Uneducated parents raise uneducated children and worse children who often times don’t value education.  Most people don’t “break” out of their economic status, that’s not to say that its impossible, it’s not, but it’s far from the norm.  So poor people create more poor people.

I’m not in the mood to discuss abortion with you at the moment.  So I simply won’t I’m only going to say that it’s origins should be immaterial.  If Adolf Hitler had discovered the cure for cancer, AIDS and Ebola by experimenting on 6 million Jews and 5 million assorted others it wouldn’t change the fact that we had a cure for those things.  It seems people are very anxious to throw the baby out with the bathwater so to speak.  Though I wish I could understand why it’s easier for women to have abortions than give children up to adoption.  I guess it’s because they (like me) don’t think it’s real until it is outside them but still it’s weird.

The Bible doesn’t decry slavery, not once to my knowledge.  It does however specify rules for the treatment of them.  That slavery is ok was a given.  Though again Whoopi’s comment had nothing to do with nothing and can be dismissed out of hand.

There are angry blacks in the world, more than we really like to talk about.  Its one of those unfortunate side effects of the Obama campaign is that for a split second the current was jerked back for a moment and for the first time (possibly ever) they realized that Chris Rock is funny cus it’s true.  But we are talking about a generation of people who either A lived through, or B were raised by people who experienced the civil rights movement as a fact of life, not as Youtube video or words on paper.  Segregation is more often than not destructive, I’d like to see how it worked out for him but if I had to venture a guess nothing positive came of it.

I can agree that there has been a disconnect from the nuclear family but I’m not certain it’s a negative thing.  I think it’s a new thing and nobody is completely certain what it really means just yet.  I’m all for gay marriage if they are happy and they aren’t hurting me it’s all good.  I’m not saying this for shock value (though I might repeat it later for that) but I don’t believe in God, but if he’s real and he can justify that people shouldn’t be happy as long as they aren’t hurting others then he’s no different from any other tyrant.

The nuclear family was once a necessary piece of a functioning society, as was marriage, as was having umpteen children.  We don’t live in that world anymore.  Anybody who’s spent time in the military or even had truly long lasting friendships can tell you that family is more than blood (unless you need a kidney in which case that’s all it is.)   Anybody whose had an abusive family can tell you that just because there is blood doesn’t mean these are people you want around you.  We live in a world where people are free to be independent (largely).  Where not only is it possible (it was always possible to run away from your family, or get sold into slavery by your brothers cus your coat was totally pimped out) but fairly easy to surround yourself with people that you WANT around you rather than people you NEED.  To me that is a beautiful difference.

This is the discussion, to which I was referring on jasonrest's post on racism between the races, and all of the prejudices between the shades of tan, brown, black...not to mention the prejudices between the shades of "white", beige ; ), tan, etc.  Then you call into it the intelligent-vs-the untelligent, the ignorant-vs-enlightened, etc.  You KNOW that Sg and I would disagree on the true definition of the last two examples for sure ; )

But I will concede that it is easier for you and I, for my college friends and I, to be friends now.  I would have been friends with all of you, back when, if I had known you then too though.  So, I still contend that it is a matter of the heart and not legislation.  Just like abortion.  But in both cases, legislation has helped to fend off some of the abusers of blacks, unfortunately, legislation has enabled the murder of innocent children of all colors.  Even more unfortunate is that it was originally intended for racial cleansing

Consider this:  If it had been a black woman that supposedly wanted to have the right to abort/kill her unborn child...do you think that would have had the impact that Roe-v-Wade has had on all of us?  Seriously.  No one would have cared back then.  It had to be a white woman that was used for that purpose.  She was used all the same, but she wouldn't have been USEFUL, if she had been a black woman...it wouldn't have changed laws or the very fabric of our nation, if she had been a black woman.  Nope.  They knew just what they were doing when they used her.

I am closing this comment with this.  The family unit in America has broken down Sean.  In black families, white families, red families, yellow families and every blended color inbetween.  This break down, or decay points to the decline of America.

I know I am much older than you, but the world as you know it today, is very different and much worse, than it was when I was little.  Not because of racism, or prejudice, but because after WWII we entered into cataclysmic selfishness.  I believe this is largely because Israel became a nation, we developed the Atom bomb and the rise of credit based finances and basic materialism.

As to the original topic of this blog?  The truth about the "sexual revolution" was simple carnality.  Selfishness and rebellion.  It was designed to bring about our downfall.  You can count on that.  I still have to fight shrewdly in my life as a woman just like you have to fight shrewdly as a black man  (be glad that you were not born a black woman...they have much more on their plate than you do Sean).  Just don't get sucked into the lie that everything is getting better as our society has become more decadent.

My last suggestion?  Read over your own comments on jasonrest's blog.  Remember what you yourself said as well as what others said on that blog, because:  Everything matters Sean.  Everything matters.

    And I quote:

FAMILY, in sociology, a group of persons composed of parents and their children, but often enlarged to include other close relatives.  In the largest sense, a family includes all persona who are related by blood or marriage.  The family is the unit group forming the basis of society in most areas of the world.  In primitive societies, groups of families that claim descent from a common ancestor are often banded together in clans or larger units called tribes.

The family as it exists in Western civilization is an outgrowth of the patriarchal system of the ancient Hebrews.  The Hebrews regarded the family (and the marriage compact upon which it is based) as being held together by religious principles.  The Greeks and Romans also had this concept of the family; but when their civilizations later fell into decay, the institutions of the family and marriage suffered a great decline.

Christianity revived the religious aspect of the family.  As a result of the Reformation, however, civil authority took its place alongside the church in regulating family life.  Laws were made to safeguard family relationships and obligations, and the family became as much a legal institution as a religious one.

    Quoted from:

Page F-19 of the New Standard Encyclopedia, Volume Five, copyright 1968 by the STANDARD EDUCATION SOCIETY INC., Chicago, IL.

At least consider this information Sean.  How often have you had the opportunity to read from a 1968 encyclopedia, to see how things really were in that notorious year?

This breakdown of the nuclear family (all races) and the rise of homosexuality usually indicate the fall of a civilization...not its betterment.  This system of government, this country we call America, is in a state of entropy Sean.  That's science.  Remember science?  There is only one neg-entropic Truth in the known and unknown universe Sean.  I know Him, you used to, and you need to again.

    1. It’s unfair to say that it wouldn’t have happened if it had been a black woman.  You’re right it wouldn’t have but this was a society where black woman was arrested for refusing to give up her seat.  I cannot stress this point enough.
    2. It’s true that many of our problems are self imposed as a people, it’s also true that because of the ignorance of conservatism no amount of look at the facts will ever persuade them to change their ways.  I’m half tempted to agree with SMB and ALIEN.  Just shoot everybody who disagrees.  We obviously aren’t going to get liberal enough to ever solve many of the social problems but there is no problem that can’t be solved by bullet to the brain.
    3. If the sexual revolution was brought about to bring society down, marriage was invented to enslave them.  Neither is completely true, one (the latter) at least has a kernel of truth.
    4. The fact about downfall, and breakdown is a complete lie that Christians like to cling too as if it had some kind of meaning but the facts don’t sustain it.  Science would have us believe that the Roman Empire was defeated as much by global cooling as anything else.  You can literally chart the limit of their northward growth by where grapes refuse to grow.  History would have us believe that enemies learning your tactics is a bad thing which is true.  This is doubly true when you don’t have a significant technology advantage.

If that were true then the British Empire shouldn’t have fallen, certaining now WHEN it fell.

To claim America is in a state of entropy is to blatantly ignore the history of the world.  We are in no such thing and no amount of repeating the same baseless misinformation is going to make it true.

  • truthsayer said on Oct 01, 2008....

But it is Sean.  It is a system.  All systems have a life cycle:  From birth to death, etc.  You and I would doubtless disagree on the "etc.", so we'll let it alone for now, ok?  Systems Theory is a theory, just like the Theory of Evolution is a theory.  But it is accepted as true/fact/law.

Of course quantum mechanics has messed up our accepted understanding of all of our historically and scientifically current "theories".  It is also way too complex for this particular blog.  But, like Galileo confirming Copernicus' model of our system, led to upheaval in the church, but also in governments, science and all world views...it still had to be accepted once he made his own telescope (after he had heard that it could be done, he made his own) and then he confirmed, through observation and deduction that Copernicus was indeed correct.

This obviously overthrew the FACTS of the day.  Heretofore Aristotle's "theories" about the universe (and other subjects) had been accepted as TRUE/FACT/LAW for hundreds of years.  Are you getting my drift?  I know you are.  You are a smart young man.  I am counting on you being a smart young man Sean.

Now, let's close the hoop.  You need to learn to look beneath the surface of a thing.  When we are attacked, as clearly you, your family and your ancestors have been...you have to step back and take a deeper look at things.

Rosa Parks was one of my heroes.  A heroine...a woman and a black woman.  She knew it was wrong.  She knew that the color of one's skin means absolutely nothing in truth.  It only means something to those that live their lives on the cuff, on the surface.  Do you think that she hated white people?  Do you think that she was sorry that she was black, or a woman?  I don't think that is true at all.  I don't think that any true revolutionary has that luxury, or that weakness.  Only rebels can pull that off.  Haters.  Blamers.  Finger pointers.  How can true change come from being as cruel and cancerous as the abuser or the disease that's only purpose is to kill, steal and destroy?  It cannot.

The United States of America has the longest standing constitution in the history of the world.  To ignore that is so irresponsible that the ones that choose to ignore it deserve their fate.  Did you know that segregation and a host of other racial abuses were made illegal by congress in 1875?  How was it ignored?  Because we the people were not diligent.  And that is why our country is in the state of disrepair that it is today.  We the people, were not informed and we were not diligent.

The rise and fall of world empires is the stuff of our world history Sean.  The United States was supposed to be different.  It is based on Judeo-Christian principles Sean.  It is not based upon the Christian or Jewish Religion.  It is based upon Judeo-Christian Principles.  To blatantly ignore that is to ignore the history of the world, the history of our government, the history of our founding fathers, the history of our documents and our principles and that means Sean, that we are no longer a system...we are approaching "aggregate" without the truth, or worse.  We may yet become the evil empire that false prophets keep declaring us to be.

    1.  Abortion is wrong.  Adoption is not.  You mentioned this before and I agree.  I believe that if you had to go through a pregnancy and offer your baby up for adoption as the only option...fewer young ladies would allow themselves to become pregnant.  You are a young man, you will have to decide, with the help of older men, how best to handle your end of the reality of conception.  Please read my own experience with this below...perhaps it will help you to understand why people tend to prefer abortions to adoption, personally.

1A.  Please don't put Rosa Parks into the abortion issue unless you know that her personal beliefs were in favor of abortion clinics as birth control.  Planned Parenthood came out of eugenics (birthed by Darwin's cousin), ethnic cleansing and other horrors.  Black people were not considered human by many whites.  They still aren't...at least not as "human" or priveledged as they are.  This also has it's roots in evolution as well you know.  Planned Parenthood was originated to kill ethinic babies, to reduce population levels by getting rid of poor babies, poor families, blacks, browns, and even poor white trash.  I've lived in a trailer.  Maybe I qualify for the last false-characterization!

I also had a child out of wedlock Sean.  I sinned.  My baby did not sin.  I had no right to end her life...not that I ever even considered it.  I knew that I certainly didn't put her into my womb, I did not cause conception...only my decision to have unprotected sex had made her innocent life possible.  My "boyfriend" wanted to abort her.  It would have been easier for him, he said.  He'd rather not know that he had a child running around the planet somewhere.  I was not concerned with "easy" Sean...I was concerned with "right".

Back to Rosa Parks.  Remember that racism is evil Sean.  Not conservatives.  Not liberals.  Moses' wife was black.  Miriam hated her because she was black.  God hated that Miriam did that.  Jews have been slaves too Sean.  In fact, they had just been slaves before their great wandering, hadn't they?

Adolf Hitler was wicked.  He hated Jews, blacks and other minorities, Gypsies, poor people, retarded people, etc.  He loved evolution.  He loved eugenics.  He based his evil empire, or the plan to have a world empire upon these concepts.  He was also a pagan, into magic, witchcraft, "new age", etc.  He was a pervert.  He had sex with his niece and married her.  I don't want to go any further into his sexual perversion than that.  Not now, not ever.  Horrible perversions.

There are sexual deviants and perverts all over the world.  There are people with great power in this evil world empire, whose lust for power and perversion might dwarf Hitler's perversion of the 'truth'.  Conservative and liberal means nothing when it comes to wickedness Sean.

Let us not forget that right now, there are still slaves all over the world.  Not in Christian countries, overtly.  That is to say that there may be sexual slaves in Christian countries because there are perverts and wicked underworld sorts all over this current "world system" that might have their carnal lusts for sexual control and power in all of its forms, to match their fat bank books which they have willingly exchanged for their souls which are now cold and might as well be dead.  Oh wait.  They don't believe in hell until they see it for themselves, right?  Ok.  Or, they say, who cares?  It's worth it to them in their own distorted scheme.

    2.  Conservatives are not your problem Sean.  Liberals are not your problem either Sean.  Wickedness is the problem in this world.  Sheer 'unadulterated wickedness'.  That's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one.  Figure out the best "True North" and shoot away Sean.  But you'd better be right.  Right for everyone.  If you're not...you're just like "them".

    3.  Marriage was not meant to enslave us Sean.  It was meant to teach us about God.  Maybe you just aren't old enough to understand that.  Maybe you are still "sowing your wild oats," so to speak.  God is used to our infedelities and our adulteries Sean.  He makes covenant with us, and we tend to break covenant with him.  Marriage is a covenant Sean, not a limitation.  The whole is greater than the sum of its parts Sean.

    4.  If you really believe this, then you should probably start rewriting all of the history books.  No.  Wait.  That has already started, and you believe it.  I guess there is nothing I can say to you about systems then Sean.

My degree, my studies, my consulting is all about Systems Theory and organizations (anything comprised of more than 10-12 humans).  But now people just seem to believe in things they like to believe in.  The truth has little bearing on anything anymore, it seems.  If it did, they would always go back to the input of the system they endeavor to understand, if they want to know the truth.  Like Galileo?  They would look fearlessly into the past, the present and the future.  Instead of putting their fingers in their ears, closing their eyes and chanting "there's no place like me, there's no place like Me, there's no place like ME!"  See?  You and I are just on different sides of the looking glass Sean.

    5.  I wouldn't take the time to say all of this to you Sean, if I didn't care about you, if I didn't know that God cares about you, and if I didn't know that there is much more to the world than you can possibly know without getting to know the One who made it, the One who made you.  He made it for you Sean.  The least you can do is read the stewardship instructions and the love note he attatched to the gift of life.

I am sorry about slavery and racism Sean.  I am asking for forgiveness.  You and I were both chosen to live at just this time for a purpose.  We have great conversations.  I have great hopes for you, and I don't even know what you look like.  I haven't heard your voice or seen what you do when your nieces or nephews, or your mother or father enter a room.  I am sure that you can light up a room when you want to.  I'll bet they know that you love them.

I'll keep you in my prayers Sean.  You have had an impact on me.  You have helped me to understand so much more about your generation.  You took the time to be real with me.  Still, I am sorry for any and all lies you have ever been told or believed.  I am sorry for all of your disappointments and losses.  But you know what?  All of those experiences went in to making you the young man that you are today.  So, if it meant that I would not have gotten to know you as I have...however limited we have been by this communication medium...this system ; ) ...well, I would hate to have missed this Sean.  I am grateful to have known you.

    Thank you.

    Blessings,

    Truthsayer

    1. No, I don’t disagree that all systems have a life cycle I question whether it is wise to base assumptions/theories about human behavior on physics.  While parallels can be drawn a man can stop himself with out outside forces, likewise he can stop himself.
    2. Yes yes, facts as we know them may be complete bullshit.  However until they are proven to be bullshit (or there is at least compelling evidence to the contrary) it is unwise for us to behave as if these “facts” are not true.  Speaking from a purely scientific standpoint we really don’t understand gravity all that well, there is no reason (scientifically) that gravity couldn’t reverse tonight at midnight and like similarly charged magnets everything on the earth (and really the universe) could start pushing away from each other.  That’s no reason for you to nail everything down.
    3. Though you cleverly hide your language here I disagree with your basic premise.  Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Ghandi.  I have infinite respect for them, but they were also in the right places at the right times.  Pacifism only works when your enemy agrees to your rules.  While violence should ALWAYS be the last resort I do believe in Malcolm X’s “By any means necessary”.  Despite then being separated by nearly two hundred years I doubt George Washington would disagree with the heart of that statement.  I think that sometimes in order to make a point things must be broken.
    4. We, I, am not ignoring the Constitution.  Though there are a few sacrifices that have been made I support it in the truest sense possible and can’t really understand why so many are against it, yourself included.
    5. We are based on Judeo-Christian principles in the same way that the entire Western World is.  To pretend otherwise is to ignore the fact that many of the Founding Fathers (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Franklin) were theists.  Who were clearly the spiritual ancestors of atheists.  Theists believe that God showed up, made the world and has been seen since.  They didn’t have the Big Bang or Evolution yet so they made do but their heart was clearly in the same place.  America disowned the Bible during the Barbary Wars claiming we weren’t a Christian Nation.  I know I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know though.
    6. Abortion may or may not be wrong.  That said all research shoots down your idea that if adoption was your only option you’d have less girls getting pregnant.  IT simply isn’t true.  It’s not true in Europe, it’s not true in Canada, it’s not even true in the United States.  This is a classic case of forming an idea and sticking to it no matter what.  You may as start screaming the sky is plaid.
    7. You had your child, you made a decision, that decision was yours.  As well it should be.  As far as RP goes I’m not sure where I brought her into the abortion discussion, even  looking back over the last few.  Once again you are clinging to the wrongheaded belief that an idea that was originated by a bad person is by definition bad.  I again quote that if Hitler cured AIDS, even if he cured it by purposely infecting 6 million Jews and 5 million assorted others he would still have cured AIDS and the AIDS cure would still be real and good.  Attacking the proponents means nothing.
    8. First there will be slaves as long as there are people.  That’s just the way that reality is designed.  Conservatives have done more directly to aid this, particularly as the United States goes however.  It wasn’t a D that opened trade with China.  It wasn’t a D that failed to pass heavy tariffs against other nations.  It was however D’s who constantly support unions to prevent slavery from re-emerging in the states.  Truth is I don’t care either way.  Trying to ignore reality can only last so long before it comes back to bite you.
    9. I did figure out truth North.  I know the way.  It’s not enough that I know the way though.  It’s not enough until enough people follow my path to leave us be.
    10. Your point on marriage blatantly ignores all history on the subject.  It wasn’t until almost literally the day before yesterday that marriage between ONE man and ONE woman was common place in most places of the world.  Marriage (in its modern legal context) serves two purposes.  The first is economic and the second is because men haven’t figured out that blood isn’t important.  A great deal of things in this world will change when someone manages to make men as a whole understand that blood isn’t shit.
    11. There is nothing to apologize for, you didn’t cause the problems and their burdens aren’t yours to bear.

That said I’ll be completely honest.  I love you.  You are an incredible human being and it is an honor to inherit the earth from you and yours.  I don’t believe in anything greater than myself and I don’t feel dirty or incomplete because of it.  I feel empowered to know that I am the pinnacle.  To know that I stand on the shoulders of giants and I can see just a few feet farther than they saw and I hope to someday be one of the giants that the youth stand on.

I know that many of your basic ideas have served their purpose in time and maybe they served your generation well. Maybe they didn’t, but they have no place in MY world and that is what this is.  This is My world and I’m just waiting with millions of brothers and sisters for you to pass the torch.  The entire history of the world has been a progression from right to left and it has with rare exception brought with it more and healthier life.

Since we are talking about abortion I’m not without personal (as personal as a man can get) experience on the subject.  I got my Kitten, my slave, my Life pregnant.  My child would have been four, right around my birthday near as I can tell.  I didn’t make the decision, I did as little to influence as I could in fact.  I told her I would stand by her no matter what decision she chose.  She got an abortion and without a time machine to actually confirm I can say we are all better of for it.

On a side note even though I’m sure you’re fully aware of this you are aware that one of the leading theories of the fall of Rome is that they started worshiping a death cult.  It’s called Christianity.
