I'm sorry it's been a long time. I've been dog sitting and haven't had internet access for a while.

Today was a strange day for me. All of us were invited for a free lunch in the new cafeteria. Of course, I went to check it out. I know this seems extremely mundane, but the actual space for the cafeteria was freed up by killing off an academic program that I was heavily involved in and re-appropriating the space and resources to feed the influx of incoming freshmen. This isn't meant to be a political post. I realize the necessity for students to be able to eat, but I do feel the whole situation was handled very badly at the time. So I sat in the cafeteria and thought "all that for this?" I mean after the mass exodus of students who transferred (or at least tried to) because of this and the polarization between students, faculty, and administration they could of at least made the food better.
