Police look into alleged incest

POLICE are investigating an alleged case of incest in a village of Macuata Province on Vanua Levu.
Divisional crime officer north Luke Rawalai could not be reached for a comment but police sources said the alleged incident happened in a village outside Labasa Town.
It is understood that in July, a woman named Naiogabui allegedly had sex with her son who is a secondary school student.
The sources said that a school friend of the suspect's son had gone to visit and had accidentally seen them having sex.
"He informed his own mother about what he had seen but his mother told him to keep it quiet," a police officer, who did not want to be named, said.
"From information we have gathered, it is understood that the second mother told her son not to report the matter to police because Naiogabui might go to prison."
The officer said the woman then went to the house accompanied by her son. He was made to repeat the allegation in front of Naiogabui and her son. The woman then told them to have sex again while they watched or she would report what had happened to the police.
"We have visited the village and interviewed the people involved and we are investigating the matter now," the officer said.

How did the police find out?
If the son in the relationship is a secondary school student, then that would mean he is most likely underage.
I recently came across a story from Africa about a mother and ADULT son who were involved and wanted to marry.
That is the good news. The bad news is that she is pregnant.
I've no qualms about a mother and an ADULT son becoming lovers and even choosing to marry, but inbreeding is nothing less than child abuse.
There is no real difference between parents who beat their child and cause brain damage and parents who conceive a child who will suffer from a similar level of disability due to congenital defects. -
