Who's reading FunctionalForm (2):
I'm not an everyday blogger. It's not that I don't want to be, it's just that every time I type for more than a minute or two, my hands go numb. This is not a good sign. After a month of "light duty" at work, my hands haven't gotten any better, so I decided to go to a physical therapist. The initial evaluation exam was yesterday, and her exact words were, "my god, I don't even know where to start!" Heh. Thanks. On a slightly more encouraging note, she said that she didn't think my nerve damage is permanent...

I did extensive reading on the subject of repetitive stress injuries before I went, and I think she did a great job of diagnosing my injuries. (I believe in being educated about my body and exactly what it's doing, so that I can form an opinion BEFORE I go to a doctor. That way, I'm better able to describe my symptoms, and if I don't agree with a doctor's diagnosis, I'll know when I should get a second opinion.) For anyone else out there who spends several hours a day at a computer, do yourself a favor and read this book. Even if you don't think you have any symptoms, chances are you will at some point in your life if you spend a lot of time typing. This book will help you recognize and prevent serious injury, and it's well worth your time.

I have a thing from typing I don't know if it's a symptoms of some scary nerve injury. Yesterday I went to karaoke with some mates and while I was clicking the bottons to make my song choice I found my right hand very unsettling with slight shakes.I also felt myself subconsiously reluctant when I was trying to make a fist.

Weakness and inability to tighten your muscles is a possible symptom of nerve damage, so I would definitely encourage you to get that checked out. Don't make the same mistake I did, and assume that just because it goes away sometimes, that it won't come back and get worse.
