After reading this article most people would be appalled. I'm actually feeling a little better about the appalling state that my car is in.
I'll get a picture at lunch to prove it, but I haven't washed my car in over 3 months and it is starting to resemble a rolling dust ball. I know I should just take it through the car wash, but there always seems to be better places to spend the same money. I have absolutely no disillusions about how disgusting it looks.
The inside is as bad as the outside. The trunk is full of stuff I can't find storage in the apartment for. Including that wooden CD holder I got at the thrift shop. I keep saying I'm going to go through it and toss stuff I don't use. Right. I think I could probably furnish a studio apartment with the things that are in there.
The inside of the car is dusty and has a lot of hair that I seem only to shed while driving. I have paper and plastic bags, food wrappers, receipts for stuff I bought months ago, a change of clothes with no shoes, and other things I'm sure. The dust on the dash has crusted over and I'm no longer able to write notes in it, which is a shame since I don't always have paper and pen handy.
So, does having a few bacteria alarm me? No, I really don't think so. In fact, if I cultivate it properly perhaps I can save on antibiotics. I'm pretty sure I'm challenging my immune system, which is good, right?
