  How to get love?  Is it for your personal joy that you want love?  But love isn't from without. It's from within you.  Love is what you have as part of your character.  If you "love" it is an action that you do for someone else that is selfless.  Otherwise it is not true love.  Love gives.  It is not impatient.  It is not easily riled.  It thinks no evil but wishes for the best.  Love doesn't judge others.  It endures suffering.  Love sacrifices.
       If you have these qualities within you then you have love already.  If you are looking for someone to say they "love you" then beware.  Chances are they only want what they can get from you.  When you can't give it to them they leave you flat because that kind of love is self-centered.
       You want love?  Find a church where the people are serving the community.  Join them.  You'll find genuine love everywhere.  Don't look for the superficial love that causes people to pet a dog or hold a cat or kiss a woman all the same.  Look for the one who will take care of you when you are old and frail till death do you part and will forgive all your little personal hangups and problems because that person will take you for who and what you are and not expect perfection. 
       Ask God for love that is generated as a gift of his Holy Spirit.  It is that love that causes me to write this to you.  You asked for love, you have it.  Now pass it on.
