I am currently reading Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons." In the novel, CERN scientists manage to create a mass particle accelerator called a Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and recreate the conditions of the Big Bang and it gives them insight into anti-matter and the creation of the universe.
Recently, CERN in real life has done just that. This morning, the first successful firing of their particle accelerator, also called a Large Hadron Collider (LHC).They have collided two particles and, in essence, recreated a part of the Big Bang, and it could give them insight into anti-matter and the creation of the universe.
Am I the only one who finds these similarities unsettling?
