My husband and I don't get to do a lot of things like go to the movies or dinner, or just go out with friends. We have 3 very little kids to take care of. Usually we just say, "Well we'd do that but what about the kids? So I guess we'll just stay home". We end up not doing anything but watching movies at home all the time. We tend to look at our children as a cruch to our social lives.
I told my husband yesterday that I think we would enjoy our children more if we did more fun things with them. Instead of sitting in a house all day getting on each others' nerves, we could go to the park or to the mall or to a kid movie, or anywhere. I think we should enjoy our children while they're young and we still can.

We will have them around for the next 25 years or so. So sitting around waiting for them to grow up for us to have fun, is stupid. We should enjoy our time with them and look for ways to have fun and laugh with the kids. I want to see them smile and hear them laugh. After they are grown, then my husband and I can go out and have fun with each other. We will only get to raise them for so long; why not make the best of it.

I love my kids and I think I would enjoy them even more if we spent more time trying to make them happy instead of only looking for things to do that would only be fun for us. I think we have forgotten that they would like to go out too.
