Who else here is a travel-freak? Me me me me me!!!

I do not know why I love travelling even though I know that it burns a hole inside my pocket. I am finishing my blog about my latest Hong Kong trip but before that, I would like to write about Laos.

I studied abroad before and had a classmate from Laos. He was friendly and quiet. Sort of in a weird way. I don't know if he just doesn't want to interact but, I can surely say that he was shy.

My question is, given these tourist attractions to visit in Laos (just click) , would you go there?

I'd certainly go to Laos for the following reasons: 1. Wild and new country on your list, if you have not already visited country like Vietnam, Cambodia or Mynma (Burma). 2. A poorest nation on earth, and steadily on course of a strong communism sytem and never shift from the old idea of country first or citizen = dirt 3. See how the poorest people citizen on earth trying to survive in a strangest way like $1.00/day per family. Food, clothes are so precise that nothing else on earth are more important. 4. The most corrupted and uneducated officials and rulers of the world poorest country. 5. To see the old scars U.S. CIA left from the Vietnam/Secret War in Laos. 6. To see how much influence the Communist Vietnam has and enforced over Laos. 80% of the current un-elected Laos Officials must be fluent in Vietnames or esle. This is a one party under Vietnam. Laos = slavery, dirts, and a piece of cow shit. Good luck to you. Oh...by the way, be extremely careful...do not try to do any good deed or exercise your stupid free of speech in Laos. You'll be arrested, and jail without proper trial or given any reason. Or worse being killed and stamp your passport at crossing bridge to Thailand and announce to the Internation press that you had left the country (proof with the lie visa stamp at the border crossing bridge).

Wow, it seems like Laos is a scary yet fun place to go. First hand experience of what is happening to other people in a country like that. Thanks for the reply. You opened my eyes about it.

I really never though of Laos that way until you told me.
