blue -- I think it's a very strange name for a dessert. You have to admit it's a conversation starter. ;)
quilty -- Yep, I can think of a few people who would get a good laugh out of it.
kruu-ey -- I'd hate to think how it got that name! In Kentucky (I think) there is a place called Big Bone Lick. [wiggles eyebrows]
botoni -- *ahem* I prefer mine with butter and maple syrup, but there are those who prefer it straight up. ;) Your turn. :D
quilty -- LOLOL!
skald -- I'm glad you thought it was funny. I did too! :)
Fallyn -- I know. That was my first reaction too.
uni -- I found the pic online at a British import site. I just googled "spotted dick" which in itself is pretty funny.
Yup, I remember it well from school lunches. Spotted dick and custard, yummy :-)
Its a suet pudding with dried fruit mixed in, currents, raisins etc
Eilan -- you can't be too careful. A spotted dick can only be bad news.
Batty -- And this brings up another question. What is suet? Spotted dick and custard? I'm not touching that one with a ten-foot pole. Uh-uh. No way.
Rc -- LOL
Lucy -- The can said it was sponge pudding. Is that a kind of cake?
lionesss -- I haven't tried it yet, but maybe I'll buy some.
wombie -- I'm still laughing. I don't think I could take it to the check out line with a straight face. LOL
CDub -- I have the feeling it's loaded with sugar. It was on the shelf with candy and treacle. And I know treacle is kind of syrup. Sometimes you can find cool stuff at the grocery store.
gingerpeach -- You know, we could take this conversation down a very naughty road. I'm trying to behave, but you know me... I've only ever seen canned dick. LOL
hottie -- Mmmmm I bet it was tasty. Fudge anything... yum. I wouldn't have had the nerve to ask what spotted dick was. I know I would start giggling.
