This afternoon, while I was paying for my grocery store, I managed to get my finger caught in the folding handle of a grocery basket.
My day started out as any ordinary weekend. Woke up late, checked my emails, drank coffee, fixed the bed, and just pass the time so idly. Still a bit exhausted from the previous night, I'm just happy to be dozing off my bed and not do some work. I decided to wash some of my underwear (I don't send my underwear to the cleaners), I managed to cut myself. It was not a deep cut but it stung a little when the detergent got into contact with my hand. Of course, it was not really painful.
Afterwards, I decided to go to the grocery to store to pick up some things for the week. It was pleasant enough, and grocery shopping is one of my favorite chores. I was relieved that there weren't a lot of people paying because I was shopping at a very odd hour. While I was emptying the contents from my basket and trying to fold the handle, a part of my middle finger got caught. I was surprised and thought that it would just probably be a bit red, but no, blood was flowing from my hand. I almost felt my skin getting pale and being a bit faint by the sight of too much blood for just a small cut. The blood was in palm as well because I rolled my hand into a fist as an initial reaction. Thankfully, I had purchased a box of tissues. All I could say to the bagger was "can you get my tissues please", while handing the cash for the stuff that I bought. I saw that the cashier was also concerned at me and the bagger was asking if I needed anymore assistance. I was a bit faint and wiping the blood from my hand while encircling several tissues, I managed to carry my groceries out and hail a tricycle.
As if my the mixture of blood and sweat wasn't enough, while I was on my way to the tricycle, there was this guy who was flirting with me. Normally, I would either have been sarcastic or friendly, but with my already bloodied tissue, I decided to ignore and jump towards the tricycle.
Thankfully when I got home, the bleeding stopped altogether. However, I'm still faint, and am now currently recalling the faint feeling while typing with my band-aided finger.
Who thought shopping would be dangerous. LOL.
Cheers,
J
