OMG, I know its 11am on a Sunday.  But here I sit trying to enjoy me peace and quiet and there is a freeking kid outside with one of those kazoo things blowing it over and over..... marching up and down the side walk.
How annoying is that!!!  I want to yell out the window....... will you shut the F up!!! Or go outside and just yank that thing right out of her mouth and tear it apart right in front of her, make her cry to daddy.  My patience is wearing very thin.  I don't think my happy pill is working today ~

Update:  Oh, my freeking God, now she has a pan and a spoon!  Hell, yes, I am going to work today, get the hell out of the neighbor hood....... oh, shit, there are 2 now, one with the kazoo and one with the pan.......

Can you drown her out with music or put in ear plugs?  I think it's a little obscene to let a child do that at that hour on a weekend.  I bet her mom sent her out with her dad to get rid of the sound too.

uniquely ~ nope, its grandmas house!  LOL  I think they just went back inside, hopefully to have some lunch.  Maybe tonight about 10pm I will go out in front of her house with the pots and pan band of my own..... only I'd be thrown in jail!  (or the nuthouse)  LOL
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 07, 2008....
How much you wanna bet grandma was the sadistic one who inflicted that toy on the parents?

Right now, I'm listening to the neighbors dog bark it's head off. And someone has a leafblower. I really think those things should just be banned from the face of the earth. They drive me insane, and then they make the neighborhood dogs mad, and suddenly it's a noise storm!

But yeah, a kid with a kazoo and some pots and pans would have me longing to be deaf!

Here it's kids on skateboards and those little funny scooters, screaching across the pavement like chalk on a chalkboard.....

But a kazoo!  That would annoy me if I was outside mowing the lawn!  Ha.....  Wonder what brought on the impromptu music fest.....Hope they have moved on by now......

I'm constantly amazed at how inconsiderate and thoughtless some people can be! The strange thing is that those people are usually very nice. I have a neighbor...a really lovely person, just as sweet as she can be. But at 5 am, when she's walking her dog, she talks to it full voice, as though it were 5 pm! Wakes me up every morning!
Shut up already!  People are still sleeping!
And if my husband is out there smoking a cigarette before getting ready for work, she calls to him from across the street, "MORNIN' MR. RANTS!". He cringes and sneaks back inside before she can come talk to him.
    Jeez.

I'm rushing to your rescue.  You and I are going outside to join the kids.  You definately cant beat them so lets join them.  Hi ho hi ho...it's off to the looney bin we go......

Do they sell hand grenades? Quiet ones?
  • skald said on Sep 07, 2008....
They do know how to annoy us sometimes.
  • gingersoul said on Sep 07, 2008....
Quiet....I would walk to the inconsiderate mother of those two annoying monsters (who anyway are only kids and don't know anything about proper time to have fun) and would ask her to keep her kids inside until decent time or if she has a backyard to shove them back there.

I think its the first time i've seen you so wired up, Quiet!
    They must really be noisy...

Try headset and music and retreat in the farthest corner of your house...far away from those monsters....or like Lenny suggested....hand grenades.....yes, hand grenades are great!...
  • polarheart said on Sep 07, 2008....

quilty, you implied the F-word!  You go, girl!

I have a neighbor that mows his lawn at 8 a.m. on Saturdays.  I've been known to use the f-word on occasion.

2 times now some idiot has been sitting in his/her car and honking the horn. not just one honk but multiple honks like he/she is composing a song. or doing it on purpose to annoy someone else. i'm tempted to go outside when it starts back up again and find the idiot to tell him/her to be quiet.

    so i empathize with you!

OMG - I do not do noise well either - but I think a kazoo belongs in its own category and should be outlawed.  What ever happened to being seen and not heard ;)?
  • quietone said on Sep 07, 2008....

uniquely ~ LOL you are probably so right!  I have been known to do that myself!

e.t. ~  LOL, they didn't play much longer after I wrote this post thank God!  I sure hope they don't make a habit of it!!  Dogs drive me nuts when they start barking too.  I don't think we have any nearby in my neighborhood that bark! woo hoo!

pickers ~  LOL  my patience..... or lack of was showing!

wombie ~ I think it was the fair that brought out the best in them!

Twyla ~  LOL I can see your hubby trying not to get caught now!  I sleep with ear plugs so I don't usually hear a thing until I take them out!

botoni ~ there coming to take me away..... haha.... to the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time........

Lbno ~ I don't know about hand granades but a good swift kick in the pants is free!

skald ~ yes they do.  I usually can ignore most, but today, it just got the best of me!  LOL

  • quietone said on Sep 07, 2008....
ginger ~ oh, how about a little sling shot with some good ole hard beans!!  I sure hope they lost that kazoo today!  they live right across the street from  me.

    polardoodle ~ like I said to ginger, I hope they lost the kazoo today.  no, I don't do repetitive noise well at all. {{{hugs}}}}

    papery ~ ditto what I said to polar {{{{hugs}}}

meems ~ yes, there is a landscape business that mows about 3 or 4 lawns on my street, and they start at 8 am during the week.. thing is I don't work mornings!! But I do wear my ear plugs to bed!

trav ~ I love kids...... I really do but love them even more when they are a lot quieter!

George ~ I came pretty close to that today!!

blue ~ I was thinking more along the lines of CCR

mamie ~  I guess we all have our moments don't we!  LOL

silver ~ omg, now that would have drove me nuts too.  I think I would have had to go holler at them!  that is just insane, rude!!

trav ~ I'd be tapping something upon your head to the tune of something!!

wishy ~ I think the seen and not heard days are long long gone... and I hope that kazoo is too.
  • RollingC said on Sep 07, 2008....
It's not the children but the adults that are to blame.  I don't care if it's the grandparents that let them....I work graveyard shift and if they did that near my house I'd go to the house and talk to the parents, grandparents, whatever and hopefully get that resolved.

    Good luck
    Rc
  • quietone said on Sep 07, 2008....
RC ~ yes I understand graveyard shift as I worked it for the last 8 years.  That is why I got in the habbit of wearing ear plugs to bed!  I hear nothing!
  • quietone said on Sep 07, 2008....
HEY!!! who put that "sexless" tag up there??????????  pickers was that you???
  • Twylarants said on Sep 07, 2008....
I marked it as a bad tag, Quiet. It was probably the Georgebush alt that did it.

I have a problem with repetitive noises too. What is that about? Really, I could cheerfully kill someone at times, that's how upset I get. I don't like that about myself, but I've been that way all my life. You know that commercial where the boy puts his finger in his sister's face and says "I'm not touching you" over and over and over?
I want to smack the s**t out of that kid just to shut him up! I just mute the sound, though.
Another thing that turns me into a potential murderer is when my husband wants to show me something in the newspaper. He touches the article or headline and scratches it with his fingernail....over and over and over and over and......see what I mean? Arrrggghhh!

  • Twylarants said on Sep 07, 2008....
Everybody has to mark that stupid tag...it keeps coming back.
  • quietone said on Sep 08, 2008....
Twyla ~  Yes, I do know that commercial you are talking about, the one that bugs the heck out of me is "head on"..... head on.... bla bla oh, I'd like to smack that person right in the head - head on!  I almost could feel myself getting irritated with the newspaper thing.. and that was just reading what you wrote!  LOL  thanks for marking a bad tag.
  • Battycat said on Sep 08, 2008....
I know the feeling! I work nights, and when I'm trying to sleep at the weekend, especially in the summer its a nightmare. I often wish I could get on the roof with a shot gun and pick off all the kids, people mowing lawns and bar b q ers ( especially if I have pms)
  • vreidr said on Sep 08, 2008....
Toot and toot the kid's kazoo,
Wham and bang the pans and pots,
Dogs howl and growl in this crazy zoo,
And me? My stomach's tied in knots!
  • CreativeWoman said on Sep 08, 2008....
I don't have any kids around, but I have a horse that loves to stand by the dog kennel just to torment the dogs because he knows they can't reach him.  He is fond of doing that about bedtime.  I've learned to sleep with the t.v. on to drown out the commotion.

I hope you have found a litte peace and quiet by now.

  • quietone said on Sep 09, 2008....
battycat ~ that is what started me wearing ear plugs to bed, is when I started working night shift.  I would hate to think I would have to start wearing them during the day because of a kid with a kazoo!!

vreidr ~ I like that little diddi! hope your stomach is feeling better.

CW ~ I have found some peace and quiet and hopefully that kid lost her kazoo!  LOL

I let her sleep in, despite the fact that all night she kept using her ass to push me all over my queen size bed. I'm nice that way. But at the crack of 9 am I got my revenge by waking her up. It was time for a bagel and some heavy duty coffee.
