You know, when i first came to this site, I thought to myself, "what a cool community filled with intelligent people. I could really have some fun sharing my thoughts here." I also must admit, the possibility of earning some coin while I vented my thoughts was also an impetus. It seems, however, that lately it is all about cliques and arguments and wars and making mountains out of molehills.

I am disheartened by this community outrage against an inconsequential "thief," which I don't even think he deserves to be called because thieves usually have some intelligent fibers in their brains that allow them to steal without getting caught. A thief is more advanced than a criminal, because a criminal is a thief that gets caught. But I digress...

Now I understand where silverwhisper is coming from, and I respect his angle, because as a lawyer the most important evidence that anyone has against the numbers guy (I won't even give him the satisfaction of seeing his real name) is that he violated the terms of service of SC (i.e., SC law). But to everyone that is actually taking precious moments out of life to converse with this clown, just stop.

I have said it before that if you ignore him, he will go away. This whole episode, while annoying, has also been immensely entertaining for me to witness (and participate... just a bit). I am sure that the numbers guy is getting a kick out of the reaction he is getting too. So, if he becomes persona non grata and no one reads his posts or comments on them, or responds to his comments on their blogs, then he will be de facto removed from the SC community because it will be as though he does not exist. Clearly SC cannot adequately respond to all of the requests it gets, so work around SC. Let's use some vigilante justice, but execute it in a peaceful way.

I still can't understand why Jade hasn't blocked this guy from her blog and deleted all of his posts. In fact, she keeps commenting to him when he posts something. I personally think that the course of action she is following indicates that she is getting some perverse enjoyment out of the whole situation. I could be wrong, but I am entitled to my opinion.

I hope that this community can go back to the way it was: interesting people posting interesting stuff, because I can go back to the countless other sites I've been to to do the cliques and wars thing (of which I am so tired). Just get over it an move on. You give the numbers guy power by devoting so much precious time and attention to his inconsequential self.

A wise woman told me once that hate is a stronger and more passionate emotion than love. Indifference is the true way to express dislike.

IPJ: have you spent much time on discussion forums? while i certainly understand the point you're making, i also know that when a popular member starts looking for blood, there's often people who are quite willing to help him or her find it. jade, if you're reading: if/when soulcast takes some kind of corrective action and this is all history, i for one would prefer if you just ditched your blog entry. it's obviously entirely your decision, but i think janet has a point about the degree of distraction it's causing. ed

Well I see things getting better fairly quickly, and hope they remain cool from now on.

Hey, peace out. If you put a bunch of fairly intelligent word slingers together, there is bound to be some mud slinging as well. A little mud wrestling can be fun, too.

Sorry, I am not sure that comment fits after a re-read. I should have said that it stinks when people cheat. I understand Jade's outrage (I had a post stolen, too). It probably feels like discovering that your home has been burgled.
