Executive Kitchen Assistants hard at work.

The sink are functional as are the dishwashers, the ovens and the fridge.  The compactor, garbarator, micro-convection, electric and gas counter tops are yet to be hooked up.  Just the ceiling to finish off and a bit of electrical as well as a bit of paint and it's ready to go!

Oh botty!!! It's beautiful!  You did good my friend.  Now, when did you say the open house was?
  • PAPERBACKWRITER said on Sep 05, 2008....

I have been following silently until now, dear botoni :)

I still remember reading the headline I´m a Home Wrecker
very intrigued as I opened  the post, and getting a chuckle as i finally read- :P, chiding myself for thinking thoughts - i should have known better :D ... followed by the pictures in The Way We Were

I am so excited to see, perhaps as a culmination, a video of you preparing a meal specially created for SC :) (or has this been suggested...sometimes I don´t have the time to read the comments...).

Wishing continued fun with the finishing touches (?)!

    Warm regards,

    paper ~

    p.s.

i love the lilies, one of my favourites... i could almost smell them...and they look like they are rejoicing in the room!

    :)

Good work!  It all looks beautiful!  I love the whole effect....and those cute little poochies look both pleased and protective.

Wowee, botty, it looks bee-yoo-tee-ful!  I seem to remember some blue and gold tile.  Is that still going up?

WOW!!! It is totally beautiful. Those counters are so unusual and just striking. I do believe you could be a designer! You are almost there. How's the swoon room coming along?

The lap of luxury, Mr bot. I especially like the rounded table end of the center counter with the stove top.

Great. Pretty hi tech stuff in there.

since it is brand new you could rent out the kitchen for cookery programmes.

Besides the free food - you will recover the cost of the kitchen.  LOL

Botti I totally LOVE it!  I wish we did the rounded end like you did.  We just did the basic overhang squared.

I'll call you next time we have a "great idea" that could use a second opinion!

Wov, what a fine kitchen. Congratulations and now you have a dishwasher. I remember when we talked about not having one, neither you nor me. The dogs they are so cute.

Secret......It was a lot of fun picking the actual granite slabs that would be used.  That glass tile is really beautiful but I fear it's going to be to intense for the backsplash.  I'll likely use the same tile in a different color.

Uni.....This will suprise you, but the 'open kitchen' at my house is pretty much 24/7/365 so c'mon in!

Paper.....Thank you for all your beautiful comments.  Hehehe....I like to play with titles.  Hmmmm.....a video could be fun.  Graham Kerr had his wife Trina as a director.  Would you consider the position?

Wombie.....Thank you.  The hounds have protected 'their' kitchen with great care from the moment the first cabinet was pulled out.  They've given innumberable workmen 'lick attacks' all through this process.

Miss Em.....Those blue and gold tile looked wonderful with the granite sample but they didnt make the cut once all the counters were in.  I'll use them in the main upstairs bathroom where they'll still look great.  I think I'm leaning to glass tiles for the kitchen.  Maybe honey colored or even one of the tones of taupe found in the granite.

    Fallyn.....Thank you.

Woman......The swoon room is on hold until my bank account recovers from the wacking it has taken for the kitchen.  Hopefully it'll be next years project.

Beyond.... The function of an eating counter in the kitchen has always appealed to me.  The drawback in my mind is that most often people all sit parallel and that inhibits good conversation.  Sitting in the round allows for much better conversation and if the conversation is good sometimes the odd cooking error can slip by unnoticed.  Either that or everyone gets to observe the error in creation and I am the butt of the joke forever.  Both results are good....hehehehe.

Rolling....The budget seems to have been stretched to just under a million.....Joking aside, thanks for the compliment.

Polar......Glad you like it.  I feel more like an 'old urban non-pro' (ounp?).  Shall we whip us up a batch of boboti soon?

Scip.....Wonderful idea!  Wanna be my business manager?

Daily......Give me a holler anytime.  I love challenging the plans.

Skald.....After almost five months of doing dishes by hand the dishwasher is a major treat.  Glad you like Radar and Biscuit  they're real attention stealers.

Queen....Thank you.  By the way, I made halo-halo a few days ago while I was in Victoria and I was thinking about you all the time.

Quiet.....Thank you.  The hounds are getting accustomed to it.  They've honed their begging skills immensely.

    Queen....So was the halo halo.

Ginger....Thank you.  Shall we whip up some tiramisu to get this kitchen going?

Scip......We'll have to work up a slogan.

Polar...It was a sell out last time.  I'll save you a nice plate full.

  • gingersoul said on Sep 07, 2008....
Absolutely, dahling.......when i can come over?....i will bring all the ingredients, naturally.......;-)

I understand the delay on the swoon room. Unavoidable. And not to worry, I can swoon in your beautiful kitchen.

Just a few words....
Guess I'm in that place that a song like this can affect me so much, so I wanted to put it here for me.

The song came on the radio, so I "YouTube'd" it, and the video had some scenes that made me long for home so bad that I wanted to cry.
MY BLOG DISAPPEARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, this is an unfortunate turn of events.

I've been trying to blog for a while now and have been drawing a blank. Finally, I get something going and damn it all if my computer did not...
