Two weeks ago I got serious about my losing the 45 lbs I had gained over the past three years. I began eating - yes, eating... three meals a day (sometimes a snack or two) but I am not counting calories, and I am not on a diet. I am creating a new lifestyle. I eat fresh fruits, veggies and lean meats and once in a while have had some whole wheat pasta and bread.
My goal was to lose 2-4 healthy pounds a week, but my body is energized by the fact that I am feeding it and I have lost 10 lbs in less than two weeks. I am thrilled but not expecting this weight loss to continue at this rate (although I wouldn't mind).
Tomorrow I begin adding exercise into the routine. Since I am still not "fully" employed, I cannot afford to join a gym so I am going to do the old fashioned thing.... walk, do push-ups, crunches, and lunges, etc, at home. When I finally do find the new job, I would like to join a gym/ymca that has a pool and begin swimming again. I miss that as a form of exercise. I haven't done it in years.....
