well, the defending super bowl champions looked like it...for about 1.5 quarters. then they got sloppy & i think lacked a certain killer instinct that most sports writers like to see. but since a win is still a win, i'm still happy.

on the plus side, plaxico burress had a monster game last night--not bad for a guy who hasn't practiced except the last week. :D

Ed- I read yesterday that the Giants were voted number eight to go to the super bowl. Not bad at all considering it included all teams, not just their league.

    hi ed,
The Cowboys play on Sunday. My husband can't stop talking about it. Football this & football that. Geez, i'm glad the real thing is finally here. There is a new stadium in Dallas, and i think it opens this season. I'll have to ask him. We want to go to at least one game this year.  I love to go to the games. Sometimes i can get close to the action and get good photos. I got some good close ups of the Mavericks a couple yrs ago. Dirk, Nash, etc. Do you want me to post them?
I guess you got a good fix last night with your Giants?  Good show.
The football season is finally here.  And, to me, that means cooler weather. Thank you Jesus.

beyond: yeah, but c'mon, these are the defending super bowl champs, man!

day2day: ah, you're a cowboys fan, eh? my sympathies--the giants are gonna sweep 'em this year. :D

    oh ed,
Sorry ed, that you can be so disillusioned.  The Cowboys always come on strong.   It's just the second half of the season that will be different this year.
Hopefully..I'll go ask Mr. Day.  He got a Cowboys calendar yesterday. (so early?)
He's the hardcore one.  He may want to get in on this conversation.

At Worst the Cowboys and Giants will split this year. But the 'boys will most likely sweep because they are still the overall better team. I have no doubt they will sweep the Eagles and Redskins. I'm predicting a 12-4 for my Cowboys. And yeah, I think they could go far in the Playoffs, at least to the NFC title game.

Our new stadium opens next year. Gonna be sweet.

    Mr. Day.

I agree with your assessment.  A win is a win, and this win (as not so glamorous as it was) gives us a chance to see where we need to improve without worrying about starting the season off with an 'L'.  But we need to shape up on offense and start scoring something other than field goals.  With that said, the defense looked good as did Plaxico.  Jacobs and Ward did pretty well as well.  The line is where I think the offense really needs to work on tightening up.  It can happen.

Hey Ed, its good to know you are a Giants fan...that amends any differences we might have had in the past.. ; ^ D
