What the fuck is wrong with this site?!?!?!

Is it any wonder I spend so long on FetLife.com instead?  You wanna post an entry - you press 'submit' and maybe, only maybe if you've been an extremely good little boy or girl, will the fucking thing actually go anywhere!

Maybe you just wanna cruise through My Conversations?  Well, go right on ahead if you have a spare half an hour or 2 or 3 to kill.  Dontcha just love sitting there like an imbocile with your index finger prodding away at the key wondering if the little 'ol green bar at the bottom of your screen will move anytime before fucking sundown!!!  Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgh!!!

It aint just me either - how many double posts and comments have I seen just this last week?!  I don't mind the odd glitch.  Nothings perfect in this world but come on guys - this is beyond a fucking glitch.  The end of my index finger needs reinforcing with titanium! (Please don't any smart alec say "use another fucking finger" or I'll use it to poke your God dammed eye out!

 

Right - now then folks. . . .here goes. . . .I'm pressing the 'submit' button now. . . .

PS - it's a good job I copied and saved this fucking thing cos just like I knew it would it took so long to submit I got pissed off and signed out!!  Went back in and lo and behold no post - well surprise sur-fucking-prise!  Shall we try again boys and girls?. . . . .

    It's horrible, isn't it? Especially for a compulsive commenter like me. I think it has something to do with the server or servers...they need more, or something.
    I'm so technical, aren't I?
    But since it looks as though the site has been abandoned by Jay and whomever, we'll just have to deal with it. It comes and goes.

    Oh my god - I tell what is even weirder!!  kruuyai left me a comment first and mentioned getting mozilla firefox, which may help.  I tried to comment back and thank her earlier today but of course, the bloody thing wouldn't go so I gave up.  I also noticed that the 'PS' I'd added at the bottom wasn't there either so just thought oh well, it must not have accepted it when I did edit.  But how come somoeones comment has completely gone??

    KRUUYAI just so you know I didnt delete your comment and thank you for you advice too :-)

    i wonder why I got the Twilight Zone music ringing in my ears LOL!

    pusscat-   No, I have firefox (which is exponentially better than I-E) but it doesn't help, I'm afraid. My posts and comments have timed out several times lately, so I'll just join your club.

    hmm...i havnt had any problems. I always thought it was a little slow but i guess i just blame my computer...hmm...plus i have got oodles of patience. : )

    Ha ha!  Very funny Scar - there's more than just an 'e' as a spelling mistake up there I can tell you but I was buggered if i was gonna try and edit again!  Last time I did that I lost kruuyai's comment LOL!  But, yeah - i gotta agree, that mistake really was classic ironic :-)

    Just got on here tonight and the wait was too much....went to Firefox and back--seems to be moving better.  (I gave up trying to click on this post from IE)  Is that the problem?  Or is it SC?  Oh well....I'll stick around and see how it goes.

    I just commented on Captivehearts post and of course it didn't go, so I copied and saved my comment to put up later or tomorrow. 
     
    Here comes the spooky part folks - I saw her post a couple of times as I was navigating around from My Users to the home page etc and it said 0 comments.  I then decided to try again it said 1 comment.  I thought - oh well - someone beat me to it now.  Not so my little cyber buddies - it was my comment!!  The one that would not submit no way no how!?
     
    So you see, it's not just that SC is being slow - it's being down right weird LOL!

    I had to leave to catch a train after with my comment still unposted. I usually sign out and close the window before leaving the computer because I use the computer at work. But yesterday I had to ask my manager to close the window after five minutes whether anything had posted or not. And the other day i wanted to correct some typos in a comment that I noticed after clicking "post". But it took so long for the comment to post that my student came and I had to start my class. The comment posted with typos included while I was teaching. It seems the less time I have the slower SC is.

    You said it very well pusscat!  I couldn't do a darn thing last night... it was frozen.  maybe this sight is going tits up who knows.  Who the hell is in charge of this place anyway???  I think that is why a lot of people who used to be here aren't as much any more.  Sucks.

    girl...I hear ya!  I could comment ONE time and then everything went to hell and fast...or slow?  It's better than it was, but I was pretty friggin annoyed.  I didn't copy a post and save it to paste later and lost it.  I was throwing a fit!  When I do that (or I should say DON'T) something happens.
     
    I thought I was the only one!  I couldn't even post to ask the question!

    It happened to me too ! To post up comments takes eternity.  And besides on a couple of occassions my comments registered almost 3 times on the same post to mine and other reader's annoyance.

    I can't believe how all of you have been having the same shitty problems as me!  It's crazy! 

    I just got a shock though.  When I first tried to post this yesterday it wouldn't post no way no how so, like I said, I copied it and saved it and posted it later.  Thing is I couldn't remember what I'd originally called it so gave it this current title.  If you look at the bottom of this page, you will see my original post called "and you thought tortoises were slow".  There is kruuyai's comment that I thought had got lost!!!  I'll let her know how come no one else has commented on that post ha ha!

    Keep it quiet like but it seems to working ok at the mo?. . Shhhhh

    No doubt about it, SC has been extremely slow lately.  That's probably why there's so little activity these days.  It's frustrating to write a long post an have it hardly get any atttention just because people can't pull up a page.  I used to have even more problems when I used internet explorer, though.  Since I switched to Mozilla Firefox as a browser, I've had much fewer problems.  You might give that a shot.  At least your comments won't get truncated.

    I like Firefox, but when editing long posts after I have posted them they too get truncated. Then I have to delete the post and repost all over again, a pain when you have to add the links to a half dozen photos all over again.

    I use Firefox because IE is just to slow, but that has nothing to do with Slowcast...it's slow all on it's own.
    Something is going on with the comments. I use to be able to edit a comment before the 60 seconds ran out. Now, I have to edit it in HTML instead of compose, and when the counter reaches 0, nothing happens, the blue box doesn't fade away.

    LOL at Quiet's "tits up". I don't think anyone's in charge anymore. It looks as though the inmates are running the asylum.
