Indeed, the republicunts are the intellectual equivalent of three-week-old, dead hookers.

Really now, the reality is telling enough without resorting to abusive name-calling.  The Stewart clip is brilliant.

I used to think there was a point to sober debate. Sadly, the republicunts' assault on reason has destroyed any possibility of sane discourse. I've become convinced that the only path is vitriolic ridicule.  I have therefore made a conscious decision to become a troll.  Abusive namecalling, to paraphrase Twain, can provide a sense of relief denied even to prayer.

Yes, I watched that episode of John Steward too.  I was in a state of shock and chagrin as I listened.  Peace and Long Life

Well, at least shock and chagrin are signs of intelligent life.  Good for you.

"I've become convinced that the only path is vitriolic ridicule."

I understand the frustration, however you will probably not influence people with that.  I'm not talking about influencing willfully ignorant people (a couple of names come to mind), but rather influencing people who are not so die hard that they can't see the erosion of civil liberties and rule of law.

Ahh - but you presume that my purpose is to influence.  You've missed my point.  Once they've succeeded in encasing their minds in concrete, all hope of influencing them is gone.  No - my purpose in being an evil troll is purely masturbatory.  It's to blow off steam, achieve catharsis, and make me feel better by making others feel worse.  Ultimately pointless, childish, and even self-defeating, but it keeps me from screaming out loud.

And you missed my point.  I wasn't referring to trying to influence the people who have given up thinking.  I was referring to influencing those who are uninformed or who haven't considered all the possibilities.  Those kinds of people will just be pushed to the other side.

But don't get me wrong.  I understand that need for catharsis as well.  :-)
