Gummi cooked for the family yesterday evening. It was his last evening here. This morning Pálmi drove him to the airport. Gummi had to pay almost 300 dollars for overweightoverweith. His equipment and so. This strange picture is taken on time.

Today Sjöbba my friend phoned me. Sjöbba and I have been friends since we were 10 and she lives in the next apartment above me. She has been ill and in hospital. Now she is recovering. She is at a red cross hotel. A hotel that the red cross has for people who are recovering and can not be on their own. Tommi her husband is working all days.
You may remember my friend Systa. We have been friends since we were born. Really we were put in the prams side by side and we were always togehter in our first years. Systa has cancer and it is in her bones and her muscles.

I did not know where she was this summer after I went to Tenerife. I have been looking for her and to no avail. Sjöbba told me Systa was there. They did not recognize each other and started to talk togher. Sjöbba was wearing the cardigan I made her and so they found out that I was their mutual friend. They met each other here two and a half year ago at my 60th birthday party but did nto regognize each other.
Well I visited both of them today afther I was at mums.

Joanne.  Thanks, I had you in mind when I took the picture of the red door. Yes I know how we love our kids and how they can chat until we can't hear ourselves think anymore. And thanks for liking the picture with us all together. I was laughing because Pálmi was saying that the camera would not even get us.

So many big changes!  How are you doing?  I'm sure you miss Gummi, but isn't it kind of exciting to see him going out into the world having some adventures?  I'm sorry to hear about your friend.  That must be very hard to hear that they are sick.
  • skald said on Sep 04, 2008....
Uniquely.  Thanks yes it is good that Gummi goes there to get the education that he wants. I am happy for him also anxious for him even though he is a grown man, now.

My friend Sjöbba has been in ill heath all her life, so that is nothing new to me but I hope the best for her. She is tough. My friend Systa is told she had 4 years. she has come to terms with it. She has suffered a lot and she says she had lived the life. She believes in afterflife. But sure it is not good to think about this. Then as my mother says no one know who burries who. That is a saying here.

I say we will have to enjoy the time we have.

I like that saying.  It is so true that life is uncertain.  We really should live it more like that every day.

Where is he going to stay?
His girlfriend is going with him? And what about his son?
I know......i am too nosy.....don't answer if you don't like......
Thanks as always for sharing your life with us....:-)

It's always good to see one of your 'family' posts.  How interesting that Systa and Sjobba would me in such a facility and have you as a common friend.  I do like the saying 'No one knows who will bury who.'.  It's a real truth.
  • skald said on Sep 04, 2008....
Secret.  Well I was not too happy when he got those dreads but now I think it is cute.
Ginger. No, you are not too nosy.. Adda is not Gummi's girlfriend. She is his x and they are good friends now. He has two children which will miss him of course. But I hope all will turn out well. He will come home three times a year if he can. That is all I know now.
Botoni.  Yes, the word is small at least here and Systa and Sjöbba ended up at the same place at the same time. Maybe there are no coincedences in the world, like some people say. The saying  No one knows who will bury who is full of life experiece and is wise.

Oh skald, I know you will miss Gummi.  It doesn't matter how old they get to be, they are always our babies.  I missed my daughter terribly when she went to college.

I'm glad that you had a chance to visit with your friends.  :)

Mimi. Thanks. I was just thinking of how he was yesterday and then he sent me his now English phone number. It was good visiting my two childhood friends.

This is my 3rd attempt to open this post skald so please forgive me for being so late (problems with the site I fear!)

My gramma always used to say that even when she was in her 70s and my dad was in his 50s, he was still her 'baby' and always would be.  You'll worry about Gummi always because you love him so much.  What a wonderful close family you have.  Just think of all those pictures of his you'll be able to post here soon too :-)

I am sorry to hear about your friend.  i am glad that she has someone like you for her friend.

I am so glad you finally found Systa, and that she is still okay.  It was nice that your 2 mutual friends met also to keep each other company.  That sure was a lot of extra money Gummi had to pay for his extra things.  I bet he will be missed by all.
  • polarheart said on Sep 05, 2008....
Dear Skald, I am so happy for the good news about your friends, it is simply heart warming.  I cant believe Gummi had to pay so much for his over-weight luggage, but I can understand that its because of all his musical equipment.

I love the family photo best of all. . .I ate at that table!! :-)

    Much love

Pusscat. Thank you so much. I could not open posts this morning either and it was so frustrating. How right your grandma was. She must have been a lovely woman. Thank you so much for your  warm hearted remark.
Quiet.  yes, what a co indecent that my two friends are there together. They can keep each other company. Sjöbba admitted that she had been envious of Systa in our youth when I spoke of my old friend she said.
I have talked with Gummi and he is O.K. Will take his English exam for the Uni tomorrow. He is missed. xox
Polar. Polar it was the computer, and the photo suff. He does not take his mucical intstruments with him. If he plays there it will be on somebodies elses drums. Almost the whole band is there. Just one of the lads is here. He is just going to become a father soon.  Much love to you too. xox

Wombat.  Thanks so much. I will tell Gummi and  yes it was good to find where my friend was.
  • hotaka said on Sep 06, 2008....
Well someone didn't smile for the camera in the last photo. Hey, glad you found Systa. I remember your posts about her before.
  • skald said on Sep 06, 2008....
Sjöbba did not smile. It is difficult to photograph her because she can not be just natural. Thank you Hotaka and thank you for remembering.

Queen,  Sjöbba has never been completely well in her life but is tough and Systa is given 4 years. It is very sad but that is how it is. Thanks so much, I hope Gummi will advance much in England.

Well I have'nt exactly been truthful to you and it's been bothering me...
I knew it was coming. We thought we would lose him earlier this year to congestive heart failure. Somehow this wonderful soul hung on for a few more months and at 4:30 this morning he slipped away in his sleep. He was like a father to...
We finally told our families! Much rejoicing.......
This is one Thanksgiving memory I won't forget. Even if I seem to forget everything else....
or is this cruel intentions spelled another way?...
