Oh, the humanity.
I have been here on soulcast for over two years off and on. I was on under another name but , now I can't log on under that name. So, here I am back again.
A quick run-down on some of my views. Maybe, it can be a bit of a reference point for some of the statments that I may make in my posts or your comments.
I am a moderately compassionate, moderately liberal-conservative. I use both my right and left wings to fly. I am a realist. I believe that self-efficiency is the key to self-preservation.
I believe that everybody that pysically can contribute to society should.
I believe that any corporation that outsources labor either administrative or physical should be taxed on any goods or services that come from such. The taxes should be equal to or greater than the taxes that would have been levied if such business had stayed in America. There should be tax incentives for corporations that stay here, simply because there will be by effect an increase in people paying income tax.
I don't believe that things cost more,I believe people charge more and we agree to pay. If a house was worth $40,000 when it was brand new in 1960 and nothing had been done to it in almost 50 years than how could it possibly be worth $500,000 today. Because, we pay and banks encourage us to pay more than something is worth. What has changed about a cup of coffee that last year I payed .50 for now I pay a $1. The priced changed thats all, same coffee.
I believe in capitalism but, profit without conscience is a cancer without a cure. Daily living expenses have finally brought us to our knees. It is the mouse in the wheel.
Let's begin with doing business in America.
ARGUMENT against: too expensive( high wages, benefits, taxes, lawsuits....)
ARGUMENT for: Wages would not have to be so high if the price of goods werent so high. In other words GM would not have pay as much in salary to a worker if that person didnt have to pay three hundred plus a month for a car, 3.50/gal of milk, 3,000 on a mortgage and over a dollar for a cup of coffee.
Also, it would'nt cost a fortune to provide health coverage if doctors and insurance companies stopped doing the "screw you" dance. The doctor over charges and over books his appointments, knowing that he will only get paid a fraction of what he charges. In turn an insurance company pays what it thinks is fair, knowing that the doctor is padding his bills. The theory is the same for the GM employee. The doctor would'nt need to make a million dollars if it were'nt for the cost of living. Reduce the need for people to swindle and you will see a reduction in swindles. Thus a reduction in cost and so on. Before you know it health care for everyone.
That's just the tip. Later,we can really talk it up.
I do not have a canidate that I can truly embrace, so, please don't paint me into a corner I am way to rounded for that. I thought I would write more, but one of my cats just got hit by a car.
