Miracles Do happen. Today a fiery, beautiful, curly haired little sweetheart is starting school. She is wearing her much loved Hannah Montana shirt and her shoes with "diamonds". Her mother has done her best to tame her curly strawberry colored hair and to warn her to share! She's ready. All four and a half years of her. (Now we will see if the preschool is ready for her.) So, why is a little girl, starting preschool a miracle? Well, this little pumpkin entered the world 2 months early after a pregnancy that frightened us all. Her mom had her appendix out when she was only 21 weeks along. Survived that and then survived another 10 weeks in and out of the hospital with early labor. At one point they had given her mom so many drugs to stop the contractions that she became toxic and could not move anything but her head. She was in the hospital for a week that time. When released she had to return several times each week for the same problem. Then there was no stopping that little girl's arrival and at 31 weeks she came bravely into the world. With curly hair. With the softest skin possible. Four pounds. So tiny. So fragile. So very much a miracle. And Now we know. We know how she survived it all. She is fierce. She COULD rule the world. And when she shakes those strawberry curls at you, grins that impish grin, and twists you around her sweet little finger, you'd let her. Today's just the beginning!
