Here's a couple of pic's when i went down to S. Padre Island, Tx.
The weekend was pretty good. My mom's doing a lot better. She had a severe back ache for 2 weeks. She's getting around much better. I am so relieved. I've been so worried about her living alone and all.
This post will be pretty short. I've been busy with the new pups and a lot of housework and laundry. I have to 'do the do'.  I go back to work tomorrow night and i'll blog in the mornings like i usually do. You wouldn't believe how it helps me to write out my feelings about my work. I'm bucking for a promotion, so i've been working harder than usual. I'm going to quit that though.  I need to get back to my regular work routine. Concentrate on the job that i'm doing right now. And, if i get the promotion, then i'll have plenty to keep me working.  I do want it. Adios.

Cool! My husband and I actually went to South Padre for our honeymoon. It was snow bird season so the beaches were pretty empty. We had a good time in spite of the weather turning ugly. I remember driving through miles and miles of empty Texas land just to get there.

    hi bad,
Good to see you. You're probably talking about the King Ranch,   50 miles of absolutely nothing but scrub brush. Then.....hello palm trees.
I loved driving the miles and miles of empty beaches.

    Hi Day,
Yes, it was miles of scrub and desert before getting to the palm trees. I believe we drove through two counties of land like that. I was told that the owners didn't want that land developed, hence the teeny town we passed through on the way. I was so happy to see the blue ocean. The first day there it was balmy 80 degrees. Then unfortunately, the freezing weather that had engulfed most of the country went south, and it became chilly at 55 degrees and raining there. Then it got sunny again on the last day as we drove home.

    hi badas,
I can't count how many times i've traveled that lonely highway. There are lots of stories concerning that stretch of land.   Sorry about the lousy weather. That makes all the difference.  But, it's still beautiful in any type of weather.

    hi oscar,
Thank you. I'm glad u like the photos.
The pups are starting to roll around. They are also getting after their mom real quick when she comes around.  I found one out in the middle of the floor yesterday, i guess it was holding on real good to the tit, when Nixie jumped up and ran somewhere.  I took some more pic's last night.  I'll post them if you like.

    hi gin,
We're neighbors. I live north of Big D. Have you been to lake Texoma?
The drive is a killer when you want to go clear across Texas.  On a good run, I've made the trip in 11 hours. And, that's barely stopping anywhere. Straight thru.
I always like to stop at places along the way. If you ever go that way, i could tell you of a few great places to visit.
Last year, i wanted to go to the beach. So, me & Mr. Day went to Galveston.  We drove onto the ferry and went across the bay. It was a great trip.

    hi lone,
Thanks for asking about mama. She hurt her back about a month ago. She is still having problems with it.  She said she wants to go ahead and get an x-ray done.
She thinks she might have a hair line fracture.  That's what i think too.  She is getting a lot better. But, very slowly.
Dont you just love the beach. (unless you've read The Dark Tower series).
    diddda chum,  didda chum
I love the endless view.  So far to look to the horizon. The wind never stops.        And, the infernal seagulls never stop.  They band together to steal
your sandwich.   They are very sneaky.   The crabs are fast critters.
But, most of the time i like to relax too.
