Opps more to the GOP BLUNDER: Sarah Palin's Teenage daughter is Pregnant. Yes. Preggers and we are suppose to possibly entrust the country to this woman should geezer McCain for any reason have to step aside, die,or unable to complete his term? She can't watch her own kid long enough to ensure that she not get Knocked up(Some soccer mom,not to say it couldn't happen to anyone but shes' now the #2 Gop(er) in the party.) and we are suppose to possibly entrust her to watch this country as #2 or possibly #1 Commander and Chief? HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! God our 4 fathers must be rolling over in their graves. I can see the snickers of other countries. I can just see it. Betcha Johnnie Boy didn't see this one coming.HAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

No it's not and no need for ANON I don't bite. Nor do I care who says what as all opinions are respected on my blog. 2 wrongs don't make a right. But if you step in the spot light make sure your shit is clean 1st. And for a conservative base that's dirty. Even Edwards found out the hard way.

This is stupid and frankly beneath you HH.  Sarah is not her daughter and ultimately has no control over her daughter's

my shit ain't clean but that was a ragged response to the same silly garbage to the election campaign.  who cares about that.  Somebody fix what needs fixing, and do it now.

Oh HH:  I knew this.  See my confusion on D6fer's post..
I thought you were going to mention about her being investigated (or whatever it's called) by an Ethics Committee in Alaska.  Her sister's ex (or soon to be ex) husband was a state trooper and was suddenly fired.  Apparently, there's a messy divorce/custody thing going on and it's been said that he was fired because of her.  Wait...I think I posted this on one of your blogs when I had more details in front of me????  I'm medicated right now...I'm sorry.  I can't talk about anything being medicated!

You could not be more right. A woman's place is in the home, overseeing
her family. Women should not even be allowed in politics at all, let alone
be appointed as a vice presidential running mate. What is next, allowing
them to vote? Get back in that kitchen, Sarah.

If this is how you support Republicans as a registered Republican, I
would hate to see how you would treat them if you were a registered
    Democrat.

  • SeanRenaud said on Sep 02, 2008....
No, not a woman's place ALIEN.  A MOTHER's place is in the home particularly with the chalenge of a special child.  This is bad timing for her but it really is going to be difficult for her to run around preaching family values under these conditions.  And Biden. . .well he gets to tell the world how when he was in a similar position he turned down an office he'd been elected to so he could take care of what was really important.  Family.

All I have to say is, who among us is without blame?  I'd rather know what issues my candidate has going into it than to have them lie to me and find out later that they had flaws they couldn't own up to.
  • SeanRenaud said on Sep 02, 2008....
I don't feel Pelin has lied, we've known about her for what?  Five days, oh yeah and there was hurricane that hit New Orleans and a major holiday and information on her is still coming steadily.  Not sure how anything that is out already couldn'e considered hidden.  I mean unless her acceptance speech should have been a laundry list of faults.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 02, 2008....
SR - I think that was the point I was trying to make.  I feel like she's been very upfront with her "issues".  It's refreshing, quite frankly.

Let me get this straight, youre a mom and you are in the nursing profession and attacking on the angle of a teenage pregnancy. Maybe, if you could find something more articulate to express yourself than, HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! than maybe someone might find you to be a little more relevant.
I wonder would you still vote for Obama if it was his daughter. Ofcourse you would, and defend their right to handle it as a family matter,no doubt. You my friend are a hypocritical bitch.Nobody in your family, friends, acquaintances have ever had to deal with issue on a personal level? And if so did you tell them that they failed by not watching their kid. Were you being watched in the backseat of the chevy when you were17? Or, did you abort the baby?Or, were you lucky enough to dodge the "bullet"?
I asked you in someone elses blog to give three reasons why Obama is the man.
The catch is this: you can't mention Bush, Cheney, Clinton, McCain, Iraq, Afghanastan or the word Change. Simply, the question is not why not the other guy rather, why him.
To you, if I am to understand, a potential vice-president's daughter getting knocked up is reason enough to vote for someone else. Precisely why there should be an IQ test instead of a registration form in order to vote. Stupid people vote for dumb things for assinine reasons.
She hid nothing, I don't think anyone who knew her before this week didn't know about her daughter. Do you believe that she was really trying to hide her daughter in 2008. From who? The democrats, the republican party interveiwers, the media who would follow the girl to the store to see if she is having her period if they knew that could get a story? Maybe a little fact finding could help you out she fessed up to it volutarily without promting over a month ago when interveiwed by the party.I guess not telling you about than was an oversite on their part.
Compared to a black guy running for president and a woman running for vice-president I don't think our forefathers would barely raise an eyebrow.I am sure plenty of them knocked up a teen or two

I've been thinking about Sarah Palin's nomination a LOT. My first thought was that it was brilliant on their part. Then rethinking it all I question how anyone would believe she would have the ability to lead a country when she has a young disabled child to raise. As a parent of a disabled child, I know exactly what that entails. As far as the older daughter. It happens. To the best of parents, it happens. However, it will be one more strain and responsibility for Sarah. Yes, it's her daughter's child, but that daughter is a minor. I know I would not be able to run a country and handle all that is on her plate. And you are right, if she had to take over she would do so with little experience and huge family commitments. I am voting for Obama and hoping anyone who has been awake the last 8 years is doing the same, BUT I would say the same if Obama had chosen a woman with the same issues.
  • SeanRenaud said on Sep 02, 2008....
If it was Obama's daughter who was knocked up the Right would be tearing him a new one about how liberals can't properly raise children.  As a member of the "right" this just stands out (sorta) as a failure of abstinence only programs and thus is relevant.

That said her father works for an oil company and her mother is a governor and may become a VP soon.  That daughter doesnt' NEED to work to support herself, her parents could easily set her up in a house and let her stay home to care for her child.  It's also important to note that while she is a minor the AoC in Alaska is 16 so there is nothing illegal about what she did so the fact of her being a minor doesn't really apply.
  • peteypete said on Sep 02, 2008....
I have two young daughters and a wife just like Obama, that is tough work let me tell you. I have been in my job for 19 years and I don't have any foreign diplomatic credentials other than being well traveled. Obama has not even one term as a junior senator under his belt and no foreign diplomatic exprience, yet some are ready to annoint him the king of the land. Palin has less that one term as Governor and no foreign diplomatic experience other than living close to Russia, and she is only running for vice president. Apples and oranges as far as experience is concerned. It would serve the Dems to never mention her inexperience.
Don't fool yourself about the needs of this disabled child. While I am certain that you, woman take care of yours this one will want for nothing as there will be a professional taking care of every need. No dout that this kid will have what we could only wish for child and all others.

  • andora said on Sep 02, 2008....
the republicans cannot control the world, or even their own children

McCains choice for Palin show's that he will use his power as pres to exacerbate partisan politics - he thought that the 18 million clinton voters were sexist - shows how deeply he considers key decisions. Can you say lack of judgment?

you cannot claim that experience is the issue about Obama when you pick someone like Palin - he just shot himself in the foot with this choice - not because of a teenagers sexual promiscuity but because Palin is under investigation for using her gov powers for a family vendetta.

I agree that bringing up the daughter's pregnancy as an issue shows that the typical American cares little for issues. Politics has descended into the morass of soap opera stupidity. As pertains to the issue of Abstinence Education, instead of sexual education this shows how stupid the Republican platform is

I am a socially liberal except when it comes to new mothers having a career. Child rearing is the most important job a mother has. Any mother that claims to be able to work around the clock as the President (with McCain, her chances of making pres are great) is willing to allow others to raise their children. In other words, new mothers that choose to stay engaged in a demanding career rather than focus on their children/husbands needs has essentially put ambition above her so-called 'loved ones'. Strange how the party of family values is all rosey about this woman just because she is anti-abortion. Its possible to be for the right to choose while standing for family values...Grand Ole Party of Hypocrites
  • peteypete said on Sep 02, 2008....
In barack's america just like now most new mothers will have to work just to pay for the mothers who are fortunate enough to get housing, money, schooling for free. And the more kids that you can't afford than you get more money. How about that. Incidently, my wife works

at least Obama will give us some meaningful industry to feel proud of working for

the way you spin this peteypete shows that you get your education from spin...GOP spin that divides the working class by pitting them against each other and especially pitting the working class against those that are destitute, while stripping workers of their rights, pensions, healthcare, wages etc...you, peteypete are a simpleton that does not know how to, or care about educating yourself about reality. And thank God Obama is not about divide and conquer as you have shown yourself to be
  • peteypete said on Sep 02, 2008....
Actually, the closest gas station to my house is Exxon and I drive past   it everyday for the last 8 months. It is my own little boycot. I have driven on E for miles not to buy gas from Exxon/Mobil. I am not sure of the relevance of that retarded argument anyway.
Welfare is not an industry.Nor is something to be proud of. If that is not the industry that you refer to than, what industry can a president create other than war related industries? If you think that a president who is against the industries and businesses that feed this country you are not only the simpleton you are an asshole.
Reality is getting up in the morning and going to work, coming home and taking care of my own and paying my share and probably yours to. I only have two children because it would not be fair to them or another one because I could not afford to give them the best that they deserve. I can afford to give them a decent life, I know my limits and don't take advantage of a system originally intended to bridge the gap of hard times. So, go fuck yourself. You don't know a thing about me or my life.

1st of all I've been reading the responses and Petey you don't know me so calling me a bitch is really uncalled for. Do you speak to your wife like that? Sound as if you have major anger issues and you should seek out ANGER MANAGEMENT. I WORK 2 FULL TIME JOBS.1(9-5) IN THE MORNING AND THE OTHER 11-7 AT NIGHT. I  get off my 11-7 to go home to get 3 kids (largely my middle, who is almost 10 and has emotional issues as well as ADHD has a fight with at LEAST 1 person every morning and that's on a good morning.) dressed and prepared for school. Do I have a husband? Yes. Does he help? Minimally. He is no Mr.Mom.

I drive everyone including him to school and train station for work then myself to the next job. Getting off from that job, getting everyone from school, spending time, doing homework, and then a meal, and finding time to sleep in between. I Have worked 2 jobs for the last 4yrs or so. So don't tell me I can't sit and identify with this woman b/c her pressures will be my 2 jobs multiplied by 100 with small kids to boot and a husband who will supposidly switch traditional roles so that she can lead this country. I never said I didn't respect her. I just don't think she is the right choice for the job she has too much on her plate and having others take care of your kid still doesn't make up for being mommy(Hell I got too much on my plate).

I would have rather seen him pick huckabee or Romney. I actually like McCain but in the current climate of the world Obama's youth and multiculturial background is an asset rather than the usual powerful white male with know it all bravado.

I was 18(And living on my own with a dam good job) actually when I had my 1st child. He was due on my 19th birthday and arrived 2months early. He almost died as I had an undiagnosed illness related to my pregnancy so NO I DIDN'T ABORT HIM. BUT HAD I TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN: GUESS WHAT, I would have WAITED!
WHY? B/c taking care of a child is hard weither you have have help or not. Maybe I would have waited till at least 21 or 25. Perhaps till I had an education to support and give my children the life I want them to have. So Bristol has an up hill battle to fight as does Levi(Her babys' daddy). As they are both young, minimally educated and skilled. At least the father of my first two at the time was college educated from 1 of the best in the country and had a job in Management at a fortune 500 company. And we still couldn't make it.

So that should speak volumes to you. I was a welfare mom for all of 3months(while having my 2nd son)b/c my job at that particular time provided unpaid leave and was just instituting medical benefits so it was too late for me to register and be fully covered. I've worked since I was 15yrs old so I think I earned the right after paying into the system to take my 3 month leave at it's expense. Besides they took my child support which I had already been fighting my ex for in court for over a yr and a 1/2 previously. I promptly went back to work after my son turned 3months and left the system behind. I eventually went back to school for a little bit of time but it was not without it's difficulties. And that was married with a new baby.

So can I speak on this issue? YES! Ms.Palin's state has one of the highest rates of STD in the country. Did you know that? Had it been Obama's daughter it would still fall on the mother as things are different for men than women. We are always to blame even when we aren't. But I still say not a good choice. But then like Michael Basin said on his radio show: Republicans would be talking about him and the daughter like a dog just as much. So get off your pedistal Petey. You and others like you are just angry it happened to your candidate1st.

You all know he could have made a better choice and won me and many over. But he was more interested in being political correct and besting Obama. That says alot about judgement. And Mrs Palin's situation even though it should be off limits bares credence to everyones' argument including most women who like me are also working mothers. It's a hard situation and not one suited for the White House currently. I don't want a leader whose going to be distracted. I want a leader that is going to be engaged. Will we be ready for a woman leader?

Soon but perhaps one more like Hillary and less like Sarah.
  • husbandhater said on Sep 03, 2008....
And to Alein, I don't think all women should stay in the kitchen or the house barefoot and Pregnant. I'm very proud of the advancements my fellow women have forged in the workplace so don't put words in my mouth. I never said they shouldn't be allowed in Politics either. So obvious you and Petey missed mines, woman,Andora's and thousand of other women's point.

She has alot on her plate and we are unsure with all that she has we want to sign on for her to lead us as a Nation,It provides for more distraction than working and we are telling you this from "EXPERIENCE". McCain is no Spring Chickhen and the possibilities of her stepping up are VERY REAL!
Hillary didn't have the same sorta distractions. But the country didn't want her either.

You, actually never articulated that she was not who you thought was the right choice. You went everywhere except there. There is a legitimate argument as to why she might be the wrong choice, but, you took the low road.

You certainly can speak on any issue that you care to. Maybe, you should just not throw stones.

  • peteypete said on Sep 03, 2008....

Don't bitch to me, andora, about the rape at the pump. I am paying 4.09/gal and I drive a hundred miles a day. I also just payed 3.79 for heating oil (250 gals).

Next month I am spending another $12,000 to make my house "greener" and hopefully, more energy efficient. I recycle, compost and even water my gardens with collected rain water. I also re-planted five new oaks that I have had since they were about two inches high (20 to 22 feet now). My point is, for all the oil I burn, I do what I can to give a little back. So, enough with the green, no where in this title was a reference to green. You hijacked the comments with your agenda. Stay on point.

    Let's be realistic about "spin";

    andora says,

"funny how you want to preach to me about welfare, while paying subsidies to Exxon".

When one shows themselves to be incapable of  engaging on a particular topic and changes the topic into more familiar albeit irrelevent subject, that has to be classified as some sort of spin, no?

Obama has been educated by one of America's finest institutions of higher learning{predominately white Ivy Leauge school no less} and he represents what this country is currently all about or have you missed this melting pot we call America? This is not Slavery times where you tell a person they are black b/c you want them to be. This is the 21st century baby and in case you haven't noticed. people are calling themselves many things and coming in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Bigioted, closed minds such are yours are dying out. And even your kids and grand kids are noticing this.Thats why the youth of today are choicing Obama and we represent all colors, shades, and classes. So enjoy your last hurrah as there is a time for everyone and everything and yours and those that think like you have found your ending. As Obama will clearly step out and end it and bring forth a new one. God has promised this before the world ended and in case you haven't noticed we are living in the last days.
