sadsack reads (2):

I'm approaching half a century and I feel not much older than I did when I left college 25 years ago.
True, there are the gray hairs that I think I should start colouring, the odd twinge in my knee when I've been sitting too long. I can't read without spectacles and oh... horror of horrors...I find myself walking up to the fridge and then forgetting what I wanted to get!

But I feel exactly the same inside! I still love kids and dogs and chocolates and walks in the countryside. I still hate hypocrites and earthworms (shudder!) and sleeping with the windows closed.
What has changed are the externals which is the only thing others see. And therefore the way people treat me has also changed.

But me old? Nah, I don't think so. I'm me, maybe in an old looking package, but the real me is still the same no matter what...

it's funny-  i remember my grandma looking in the mirror at 84 and saying, 'who is that old woman?  she can't be me.  i don't feel old!"

I understand, secretlife, I guess we'll still be us, however old we grow.
