I had a dream last night. It centred upon a bonsai tree my boyfriend bought me for Christmas last year.

When I looked at the bonsai tree on the window sill it looked as it usually does, very green leafy, a healthy tree. But then on closer inspection the bonsai began to wilt and twigs fell off around its base. As I turned the pot around and carried on my inspection the whole tree just fell apart and disintegrated, the leaves shrivelled up and its small trunk looked like the remnants of a fire. Not even its root remained.

If I was the sort to interpret dreams I would say that it was the inspection itself that caused the tree to die and not something inherently wrong with the bonsai itself.

Hi Becca - Great post - I love reading about people's dreams.  I usually have pretty vivid ones myself.  Could the bonsai symbolize life or a relationship in transition - not necessarily from a negative standpoint, but in a way that indicates change followed by new growth?

Perhaps it does in a way.

It's me reminding myself that I shouldn't over analyse things too much because it breaks things down into unrecognisable parts that do not thrive. If you look hard enough for a problem one will raise its ugly head and kill off the confidence in something you thought you once had.

    If that makes sense?

It makes complete sense - like pruning a tree - examine it and take too much off and you will kill it.  I tend to be an over-analyzer myself!

Your relationship is dying on the vine. This was your minds way of showing you your future. I use dreams.

To be stronger, to be stronger
Hey ungraceful I will teach you
To forgive one another.
