So, who's confused about who to vote for?  I'll admit that I have been.  Now, I am an independent, so I have no ties to either party, but I do vote for who I think will be best for the country.  I have a strategy toward deciding to vote.  As a Christian, there is a lot that pulls me to vote for Barack Obama...(check out Matthew 25:31-46).  Yet can I trust such a guy.  Is he really keeping the people in mind, or is he really just seeking the presidency?  Yes, I am cynical...I am always cynical when it comes to human beings.  So, my strategy is this.  I am looking to Obama to show me all that he stands for.  When it comes time, starting with the Republican Convention...I am going to pay attention to McCain.  I am going to ask him, "If you want my vote, then convince me that you are better than Obama." I am not sure, at all, that he can convince me.  Obama has been quite convincing and I look forward to his speech tomorrow.  But I knew that he would be convincing.  That is why I chose this strategy.  If McCain cannot revert my being convinced on Obama...then I will not vote for McCain.  So, what do you think?  What is your strategy for this political season?  Who will you vote for and why; how do you plan on arriving at such a decision?  I am interested in hearing your reasoning.

The way I see it, McCain is horrible and Obama is probably horrible.

lfbno7:  There could be truth to that statement.  I don't know.  During the campaign, politicians are seemingly only as horrible as their opponent makes them out to be.  Then of course, time only tells whether the opponent was right or not.  I'll admit I voted for Bush in 2004...not because of some silly fundamental/liberal collaboration like Sean Renaud delusionally believes (I know tons and tons of Christians who voted for Kerry)...but because I did not trust Kerry.  I was not happy with Bush, I had voted for Gore in 2000, but I just did not trust Kerry.  Maybe that was a mistake, maybe not.  Kerry did not seem like a great choice, and who knows how effective or not effective he would have been as a leader.  I only know that Bush has not done us that good either.

The point is I am leaning toward Obama now.  But who knows who is telling the truth.  You are right, it seems like any choice could be a horrible choice.  But I can't not vote...because that is essentially voting one way or the other.  Ugh!  The confusion.  Well, if McCain can't dissuade me, then Obama has my vote.  That is the way I am playing it.  I'll keep an open mind...but so far I am for Obama.

Make a list with two columns, on the left put Obama and on the right put McCain.  List things you like about Obama and things you like about McCain.  See which outweighs another.  If you are passionate about one subject that may bring you closer to one side or the other.

Thank you stopmediabias.  Like the handle, by the way.  That is a good idea, and I am going to do that.  Thanks for your advice.
