The
AA flight went on smoothly.
Unlike the crazy beat of my heart....This
heart of mine that was beating so fast. I just couldn't help it.
As soon as my plane landed and the captain smoothed his goodbyes over the speakers, i got up from my seat and started to walk fast toward the Exit.......
Terminal 3, Chicago O'Hare airport.
I finally was there.
Me.... I was pulling my baggage.... walking......looking around....searching for him.
Me...i
had that knot in my stomach...those tiny butterflies bumping against each
other.....my feet pounding the shiny floor of the terminal...
But he, who was supposed to be there, was not to be seen ...
I called him..
"But where are you?'
"I am downstairs at the baggage claim"
"Oh, no"
"Wait where you are. I am coming"
Ok, i am at gate A10"
"What color is your baggage?"
"Baby blue"
"Navy blue?"
"No, baby blue"
"I see you"
He spotted me before i could finally see him too.
So
i turned my head and i saw him walking toward me....i finally saw his carefree walk and that
smile on his face...i saw his hair tied up in the quite long ponytail
and the black rimmed glasses.....i saw his arms swinging along his
body......the elegant posture of his body...those bees stung smiling
lips...
So we walked toward each other for those last few steps.....
I
dropped my baggage when we reached each other and we finally hugged and
kissed for the very first time..... right there in the middle of the
terminal......
People, noise, bright signals.....everything disappeared in that sweet, oh so amazingly sweet first kiss.
Our
lips seemed having kissed each other since eternity.......they recognized
each other, i guess.
I guess our bodies simply fell one into the other
one...like a soft cloth landing on water.......naturally and
fluently.....hands and skins touching for the very first time...our
smells and our hair mixing for the very first time.
"Nice to
meet you" we said when our lips shortly separated...
We said it at the
same time.
We had planned to say those exact first words to each other
when we would have met in real life.
See, we had carefully dreamed of this encounter by months....
We had described that kiss and those words so many times while we were lying on our beds, separated as we have been by more than 800 miles, in our different cities, during those nights when we would call each other and soothe our longing... .....
Oh, we knew what to say even though we didn't know much after that.
After all, up to that moment we have had only words to keep us together....written words scattered in letters, text messages, chats, emails, PM.....
Only words .....whispered at the phone....intertwined with laughter, silences, sighs.
Precious words but what if after all those words, after all that magical web that we had spun for those past months we wouldn't have lived up to our expectations?
What if?
Instead all the doubts, the fears and the unsaid shyness, the childish
trepidation of not being liked ...the self awareness that we had been
nesting for all these months simply trembled down during that kiss.
Our physicality had finally melted with our brains and our emotions...
We looked in each other eyes.
Everything would have been ok.
We smiled.
Everything did.

I woke Piet up the minute Grape aka Soulbrotha posted his blog (the poor thing just nodded seconds before I did LOL)... I was so excited he did not understand what I
said... it went like:
OMG... I knew it!!! We have to meet them! I have "known" them so long - lotsa gushing (almost drooled from excitement LOL)...I blah blah some more...
and Piet replied:
"Sweetie, I am sorry could you repeat again..." LOL

The "romance brewing", as you said, started one year ago...but it really took a life of its own more than 6 months ago.....
I mean.....how a girl could resist to those beautiful secret crush posts he was writing, after all?.....lol...
And all those music videos?
And specially after he immediately confessed her that she was the object of such passion?....
It has been hard at time keeping it so quiet, believe me.....we wanted to tell SC so many times...but for reasons too private to be shared we decided to wait.
