The temple is the focus for all aspects of everyday life in the Hindu community - religious, cultural, educational and social. The temple is also the place where one can transcend the world of man. Hindus believe that their lives are merely stages in the progression to ultimate enlightenment. The temple is a place where God may be approached and where divine knowledge can be discovered. All aspects of the Hindu temple focus on the goal of enlightenment and liberation - the principles of design and construction, the forms of its architecture and decoration, and the rituals performed. In addition, all of these are determined by ancient texts called shastras compiled by the priests, the Brahmins. The vastushastras were theoretical and idealized descriptions of the architectural traditions and conventions to be followed. As a god can be malevolent as well as benevolent, it is important that the temple site is one that will please him. The murtis (depictions of the deities in a temple) provide access to the divine. The temples were maintained through donations from royal patrons and private individuals. They were given money, gold, silver, livestock and income from grants of land including whole villages. Such gifts would provide religious merit (punya) which would increase the possibility of ultimate liberation for the donor.

Some temples became very wealthy often invested in land and hired tenants to provided income. The important temples hired priests, garland makers, suppliers of ghee, milk, oil, rice, fruits, sandal-paste and incense. In return for their temple work, they were given land, which they cultivated and could live off. By providing livelihoods for such large numbers of people, the temple not surprisingly could exert great influence on the economic life of the community.

There are many kinds of temples. However, two categories are more famous. One is temple for prayers and the other is temple for healing. In India lot of temples are there as healing temples. In Tamil, they are called as “Parihara Sthalam”. For example, if any one has problems with the planet Saturn they have to go to a Temple at South India. However, in the other parts of the world, there are only worshipping or praying temples. Only the Hindu Temple of Georgia is the healing temple. All the Temples in the world are based on Rig-Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, Twenty eight Shiva Agamas or threeVaishnava Agamas. Only one temple is based on Atharva Veda that is Hindu Temple of Georgia.

Out of four Veda, Rig Veda tells about the ruling techniques and God. Yajur Veda tells about the super human power of God. Sama Veda also tells about the super human power of God, but with different musical coding called as Swaram. Atharva Veda is the only Veda, which tells us “how to use the super human power of God for solving the problems faced by an individual in day to day affair. Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu play a major role in solving the problems. They are called as “THE UNIVERSAL HEALERS”. They have taken various shapes and images to heal different kinds of problems. Some people are ardent devotees of Lord Shiva and they are called as”Shaivates”. Some are ardent devotees of Lord Mahavishnu and they are called as “Vaishnavates”. Some shaivates do not pray Lord Mahavishnu and some Vaishnavates do not pray Lord Shiva. Then how to solve the problems or get healing from the suffering. There, the Atharva Veda has given two Thantras. One is called as “SRI RUDRA YAMALA THANTRA” or “SHIVA RUDRA THANTRA”, based on Lord Shiva. Another is called as “VISHNU DHARMOTHARA THANTRA” or “VISHNU MAALI THANTRA”, based on Lord Mahavishnu.

According to Shiva Rudra Thantra, Lord Shiva has taken 108various shapes or images to heal from different kinds of problems. A lot of Maharajas, Rishis and Monks tried to build a temple in India with the previously mentioned 108 images of Lord Shiva. But none was able to get success in that attempt. Lord Shiva blessed Swamiji Sri.Selvam Siddhar to build this great temple. This will be the first of its kind in the entire world. Even it can be said as the first of its kind in the entire Hindu lineage.

For example, one person has physical ailments. He goes to the physician. If the problem of the physique is caused by some physical reason, the medicine will work. If the ailment is due to the karma of destiny, the medicine will never work in the body. By that time, he has to undergo the special prayers called as rituals. The rituals and medicines will work together and the health will be well. For this kind of problem Lord Shiva’s image of “SHATKARA MRUTHYUNJAYA” or “ASHTA BUJA MRUTHYUNJAYA” is to be worshipped. Motherland for the temples is India. Even in India no temple is having 108images of Lord Shiva together. USA is the most blessed country of the world. That is why Lord Shiva has selected this land for his healing temple. Now the temple is in its preliminary stage called as “BALALAYAM”. In this 1st and preliminary stage thirty images of Lord Shiva are being established and being energized. At the earliest, the main temple work will be started and all the 108image will be established in the main temple. All are welcome to this fantastic temple. There is no need to be rich to enter this temple. Anybody, who say that I am a “human being” can come to the Temple.
