Lets go to Potsdam today I said to Adda. We have an ABC ticket and we have not used the C yet. C is Potsdam and Brandenburg county. We went. This is seen out  of the trams window as we were there.

I asked a girl by the tram if this one was going to Potsdam's center. This time it was difficult finding the center. I have been all over Potsdam but now something had changed. She said yes, but we were surly going out of town . I asked again. We went back and then the tram took a turn after almost coming to the center. We had to go back once again. Two stations and then we were there.

The long fellows or the Langen Kerl were ther kings guard. He wanted tall men in his guard. He lived in Postdam. He was Fridrich the great.

There are lovely walking streets in Potsdam. There are palaces and gardens, an old Russian colony and more. I have seen those places many times and Adda once but now we were in the walking street. We had some special mushrooms in a restaurant outside and Adda went when one wasp visited us. She had then already eat.

Adda wanted to shop. The walking street was not interesting to her. Just small shops. We found a big shop there Karlstadt which is rather expensive compared to C and A and H M. Well we stayed in there for two  hours. Adda had heard of a Shopping Center in Potsdam. On the bus stop I asked a well dressed girl. she said you must take the tram in that direction and it takes about 20 minutes. She told us the stops name and said we must ask again. We did and we had to walk one street. We came to a bridge over the street and there it was.

The center named the Sern Center, meaning Star Center.

We were hungry. By the railway station in Potsdam is a tower called the Water tower. Adda did not want to sit out side from fear of Wasps. We went in and we should have gone. I did not like it in there. An Indian or something, waited on the people and was obviously the owner. The  place stank of beer and he was  playing on his computer the whole time. We bought  ham and it was dry and bad. I should have given him it back after the first bite but somehow I lacked the courage. We ate a bit and payed 21 Euros. He did not ask us how the dinner was. I would have told him even though I did not expect a refund after having said nothing. Everywhere else we were asked if all was right and if we liked the meal. I bet he knew he had bad meat.

After our disappointment we went here. We knew that  this is a first class restaurant . Adda got  a baked potato and I ice cream with hot berrys

Ginger.  Yes, I don't usually go twice in the sumer and in the last years we have gone a lot. But the first 17 years of my marriage I did not go anywhere. We were in our 40's when we started traveling again and then not so often as now. So nice to see you Ginger.
    Yes and good morning.

Piet and I are enjoying the series of your Berlin blogs, dearest skald!

Like you, if I could, I would love to have a place to live,
    in diesem lebendigen Stadt!

Ich wünsche Dir einen schönen Abend, liebe skald <3

    joanna :)

Joanna.  Danke. Ich wünche Dir auch einen schönen Abend, und naturlich Piet auch.

Yes, it would be great to have a place there but somewhere where it is quiet like in Zhelendorf or in the east deep East. Once I stayed a few days in a place calle Schönwald. It was outside and they had beautiful gardens. I love the gardens but then I would have to have someone to take care of it as I would not be staying there all the time. So it´s a dream. A beautiful dreams that I have had for years.

I am so glad that you like my posts. Thanks so much.

skald- Those large impressive buildings in the first pic, are they government buildings?

The 'walking streets' I especially liked. Love your pics, skald.

Daily.  Yes, Adda asked me to go with her. She was having some trouble and worries and wanted to change surroundings. So, I went with her.
Beyound.  I know that the one with the green roof is the Nicolaikirche, the Nicoali church.
I love the walking streets too and the Dutch part, and the gardens of the Sounsossi which I did not show as I did not go there now.  Thanks Beyound.
Queenie.   I am so glad that you came along. Thanks.

Looks like a wonderful place to visit. I had heard of Potsdam. Some important conference was held there at the end of WWII.
