Ukrainetrip reads (3):
Today we took a ride to an Amish town so that the girls could see the farmland, Amish buggies and people.  We packed a picnic lunch and a surprise gift package for Dasha.  This is our last full day with her and her last night to sleep in our house.  We will probably never see her again.  She asked me if she could just stay with us until she left for the airport; I told her that we promised the other family so she had to go. She seemed fine with that plan.  But she does not want to go back to Ukraine.  I know she will be happy when she sees her friends because they are as close as brothers and sisters.
We were ready to leave by 11:30 for the drive but Olia couldn't find her glasses.  We all spent about thrity minutes looking for them.  She never puts them in her case so it makes it even harder for anyone to find them!  She finally found them next to her printer in her room.
We drove to the Amish town and the girls enjoyed seeing the Amish people and the buggies.  We played a game spotting cows which I played as a kid with my dad.  Dasha and Olia enjoyed the game but we stopped when they started arguing about who spotted the cows first!  On the way back home we found a really nice park and stopped for our picnic.  We gave Dasha her gifts and she loved them and hugged us all and said she was really sad to leave us.  We gave her a puppy shirt with stars and stripes so she remembers America!  And we gave her a jewelry set with a necklace and earrings.  I am glad that she liked the presents.  While we were there under the pavilion a woman came in with about fifteen kids.  I chatted with her and she told me that they were having a family reunion at the pavilion across the lot but she wanted to play bingo with the kids.  She invited Olia and Dasha to play Bingo but Dasha didn't want to so Olia didn't play either.  After we ate, they spent time playing on the playground and had a great time.  Closer to home we stopped at Dairy Queen and got ice cream as a treat because it was our last outing with Dasha.
The girls are upstairs choreographing a new routine so I guess I am going to be the audience again!
