Jake is the one who helped me out a lot the other night when i was the 'boss 4 a night'. Last night, three nights later, he was still calling me a slave driver. That's ok. It's all in fun. I told him to just wait 'til next time i am in charge. I told him i'd have him working like a dog. Mush, Mush.  All in all, the night pretty much sucked. It started out sucky and lasted all night long. Except, of course, for the last hour. I was picked to go to a special meeting. One person out of each area went to it. The top HR rep. and the Company manger were there. It was mainly a discussion of the results of an employee survey. The survey didn't turn out too well for the company. Most of the results were average. People didn't agree on a particular subject or they did agree. Most of the questions were about management and how the bosses are running the company. So, there were about 7 of us chimps. We all sat around and let them have it. The majority of the conversations were centered on favoritism, company policy, recognition, Information on expectations, pay raises, lazy people, and a few other things. I looked at the Co. Mgr. and told him that i didn't even know him. I've heard him in a few meetings and that's it. He seemed genuinely impressed with my candor.           I don't know what to think. I'll probably get fired tomorrow. If not, then i'll tell him again. He really seemed to want to know what was going on. What the common folk r up 2. One of the other chimps told him to come out on the floor for a day. hee hee Anyway, i mentioned 'raises' a few times. I hope he heard that part.

day2day, i think you did exactly what that manager really hoped for. the problem in a lot of companies is that middle management mute the messages people are trying to communicate to upper management, so that stuff often gets lost in the shuffle.

i was gonna ask what happened the next day but i guess i should keep reading, huh? :>

    hi ed,
That is it. The middle management does mute the msgs. Those two brass people were scribbling away on their little pads. I didn't get fired the next day. So, i guess
everything went ok. We shall see. The only problem is that these people have been in production work for decades. How could they not know these things?
And, if they do, then why am i waisting my breath trying to make things better for me and my fellow work mates?
