WAS FABULOUS!

My very good friend invited me up to the Cape to stay with her at her grandparent's house.

It was me and my two best friends. I couldn't ask for anything better. It was as if these past two months of stress just melted away into contentment. Truly a beautiful thing.

And how amazing is Cape cod?! We stayed in Falmouth, but we also took a ferry to Martha's Vineyard one day, and biked all the way to Edgartown and took a bus from Alley's to Gayhead. I mean, the atmosphere alone there is enough to completely wipe away any tension or stress you could possibly imagine.

On a diet of ice cream and fried foods, we set out on our bikes. I hadn't biked in years, and even though the underside of my pelvis is still throbbing, it brought me so much joy. that's right, Joy. and I'm not just saying that. It was a weekend full of physical activity with a purpose. Sweat, Sun, and Love.

While on the bus to Gayhead, my two buddies mentioned there was a nude beach there.
OBVIOUSLY WE DID IT.

acutally, only topless.
I felt oddly comfortable without a top on. I mean, it's the way we were born right? we all have the same parts. the human body is a beautiful thing. Also, I figured my ex saw my ta-ta's, my two best friends in the world have more right than he does to see them, right?
I feel most confortable with these two people, why shouldn't I? Also, I guess the fact that the area made it socially acceptable helped a little. haha. It was a freeing experience. Am seriously considering becoming a nudist.
we swam in the ocean everyday I was there. (only one day was topless...)

anyways, it was loads of fun. laughs that brought tears to my eyes and a wonderful ache in my belly.  The weather was fantastic the whole weekend. It was a good time for thinking too, not about anything particularly important. For example, I developed some new goals for myself. I would like to learn more about plants and herbs and how to use them for medicinal purposes. like dandelion tea for a diuretic etc. Useful to be sure.

Also, I would like to get my boating license along with my pilot's license. another useful thing to know. Knot tying would also be another thing I would like to learn about.

It also got me thinking about where the three of us would end up. Will we be able to have times like this in the future? A thing this good couldn't possibly last, could it? Maybe that's what makes friendships better than any other relationship. They can last forever right?
Obviously we all have our different goals and career choices, but that doesn't mean drifting apart is inevitable right?

There was a moment on the bike path where I was overwhelmed with emotion, and felt like pouring out all my love for each of them into a letter or something. Perfectly articulated, about how wonderful they are, and how much they've changed me. How I'm a better person for having known them. I think I may try writing them, even if, ultimately, it only results in a scoff and a roll of the eyes. Maybe it's too corny.

anyway, fantastic weekend. I hope everyone can find they're way to these kinds of friendships.
