Do you think it will effect you and how you vote? Do you think it will be a turning point for you? Does it really matter to you are you just tired of the whole process right now and want to get it over with? Surprisingly more people are curoius to know Obama's pick more than McCain's. Who do you think has the best prospects? Which horse are you betting on so to speak?

i'm not surprised more people wanna know about obama's choice than mccain's: we all know obama's young so the big question here is will he select a VP that's more experienced than he is, and if so, how does that choice reflect upon his having less experience than mccain, i think.

It will affect my choice much like many other factors do. It won't be the deciding factor, though.

I think the reason that more people are interested in Obama's choice than in McCain's (although I don't think that it's a big difference) is that Obama is the rising star of the country, the most "controversial" candidate, and the most likely winner of the race.

I say controversial up above because it seems that more people have strong feelings one way or another about Obama than about McCain.

i think a lot of long-standing social conservatives have pretty strong feelings about mccain, TS. :>

    ed:
Look at it this way. Most independents and Democrats aren't going to vote for McCain no matter what. Most Republicans will, even your infamous "social conservatives". They're certainly not going to vote for Obama (the "social conservatives" that is).

However I think a significant number of rank-and-file Republicans will vote for Obama, as well as many independents and of course most Democrats. Maybe a few Hillary supporters or more conservative Dems will go for McCain but I bet the number is fewer than the number of Republicans that end up voting for Obama.

But again -- regarding the strong feelings comment I made, I'm talking about the electorate as a whole and you are talking about one faction of one political party.

Or even look at it this way: There are factions that either strongly like Obama or strongly dislike him. There are factions that either strongly dislike McCain or... well, there are no factions that I'm aware of that strongly like him. Does that make more sense?

i understand what you're saying better now, but i'm not sure i agree.
