Try to explain any of this in modern human terms. Did either actually come first?

Both are alternate manifestations of the same creative energy - so first is irrelevant as the egg is potentially the chicken, and at some point within itself, the chicken is the egg. Only the present moment has meaning. -

Um, this is not a real question. It's always been meant as a metaphorical conundrum. Please don't take it literally.But if you want to push it you could say they egg, since the chicken is really just DNAs way of making more DNA. The whole painstakingly slow process of evolution basically started with strands of DNA-like chemicals being able to self-replicate. -
